Premier League round-up: Liverpool, Tottenham, Arsenal win, Chelsea and Man Utd in stalemate
Liverpool got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory against Sheffield United, while Gareth Bale starred in a 4-0 win for Spurs over Burnley.

Sheffield United 0-2 Liverpool: Champions end Prem woes
Liverpool returned to winning ways in the Premier League with a 2-0 victory over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane.
Curtis Jones and a Kean Bryan own goal ended the Reds’ run of four successive league defeats and heaped more misery on the bottom-placed Blades.
Bryan’s own goal, which was originally credited to Roberto Firmino, was Liverpool’s 7,000th goal in top-flight football and secured a win which moves Jurgen Klopp’s champions within two points of fourth-placed West Ham.
Sheffield United’s 21st defeat from 26 games leaves them 15 points from safety with a seemingly impossible battle to beat the drop.

Chelsea 0-0 Man Utd: Stalemate at Stamford Bridge
Chelsea missed the chance to climb back into the Premier League’s top four after grinding out a goalless draw with Manchester United at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues threw in all their attacking personnel and every novel idea from new boss Thomas Tuchel but could not force a breakthrough against Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s resolute Red Devils.
Chelsea extended their unbeaten run under new manager Tuchel to nine matches, while United stretched their record-breaking stint without a Premier League loss on the road to 20 games.
Striker Tammy Abraham missed out entirely with an ankle concern, and the Blues also lost Callum Hudson-Odoi at half-time to a potential thigh injury.
In-form striker Olivier Giroud was unable to make the most of two promising first-half openings, while Hakim Ziyech, Christian Pulisic and Timo Werner all tried and failed to find the back of the net.
The draw proved by far the better result for United, who were able to hold onto second spot in the league table.
Fifth-placed Chelsea were left to rue another match under Tuchel boasting dominance in both possession and territory – but one severely lacking in cutting edge.
Tottenham 4-0 Burnley: Gareth Bale inspires Spurs
Gareth Bale appeared back to his best as he produced a devastating display that included two goals and an assist in Tottenham’s 4-0 win over Burnley.
The Wales international has enjoyed a resurgence in the last few weeks after a miserable start to his Spurs homecoming and delivered his most telling impact yet against the Clarets.
After opening the scoring in just the second minute, he then set up Harry Kane and was involved in Lucas Moura’s third as Jose Mourinho’s men ran riot in the first half.
He then added a brilliant second after the break to complete a fine afternoon’s work to help Spurs to just a second Premier League win in seven games.
It may have taken the 31-year-old the best part of five months to find his groove but he could not have timed it better as Spurs head into a crucial part of the season, with the latter stages of the Europa League and a Carabao Cup final to look forward to.
Burnley will not be too fussed about returning to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium any time soon as they followed last season’s 5-0 thumping here with another heavy defeat that could have been even worse but for goalkeeper Nick Pope.
Leicester 1-3 Arsenal: Gunners revival continues
Arsenal continued to breathe fresh life into their season after an impressive 3-1 win at Leicester.
David Luiz, Alexandre Lacazette and Nicolas Pepe netted as the Gunners came from behind to claim a deserved victory.
Youri Tielemans’ early strike had put the Foxes ahead and the hosts suffered a further blow when Harvey Barnes was carried off in the second half with a knee injury.
The Foxes remain third in the Premier League but missed the chance to move nine points clear of fifth-placed Chelsea.
Arsenal are now just three points off Liverpool, who sit sixth, and boss Mikel Arteta had the luxury of resting Bukayo Saka as the Gunners built on Thursday’s Europa League win over Benfica, which sent them into the last 16.
Crystal Palace 0-0 Fulham: Cottagers now five unbeaten
Fulham extended their unbeaten run in the Premier League to five matches but were left to reflect on what might have been after the 0-0 stalemate at Crystal Palace.
The visitors created the better opportunities at Selhurst Park with the majority falling to centre-back Joachim Andersen, although Josh Maja was brilliantly denied by Vicente Guaita from close range in the second half.
It ensured the spoils were shared in Roy Hodgson’s 150th match in charge of Palace following an encounter which lacked quality.
This point for Fulham moved them within three of relegation rivals Newcastle and Brighton while the Eagles remain in 13th position.
