Neymar charged: Brazilian star hit with UEFA charge for insulting match officials after PSG's defeat to Manchester United

UEFA have charged Neymar with "insulting acts against a match official" due to social media comments he made after PSG's controversial Champions League defeat to Manchester United.

United produced a shock 3-1 away win at the Parc des Princes thanks to a controversial penalty given in the fourth minute of stoppage time.

A late VAR penalty was awarded to United after Diogo Dalot's shot struck Presnel Kimpembe on the arm, but a furious Neymar insisted the penalty, converted by Marcus Rashford, should not have been given.

The 27-year-old Brazilian voiced his anger on social media, calling the decision a disgrace and hitting out at the match officials.

Neymar wrote on Instagram: "This is a disgrace, they put four people that know nothing about football in charge of looking at the replay for VAR.

"There is no penalty. How can it be a handball when it hits his back! Go **** yourselves!"

A hearing date is yet to be confirmed.
