A stunning solo goal from Sofiane Boufal secured a 1-0 victory for Southampton at home to West Brom.
The substitute ran fully 70 yards from inside his own half and left three defenders on their backsides - two of whom had collided with each other - before sliding the ball home for a truly memorable strike.
It was going to take a moment of supreme quality, or abject stupidity, to settle this otherwise drab affair and it was the former as Southampton's record signing secured their second home win of the season.
Southampton are odds-on at 4/7 with Sky Bet to finish in the top half of the Premier League. West Brom are on offer at 11/4 in that market.
Post-match reaction
Sofiane Boufal sent a message to Southampton manager Mauricio Pellegrino after scoring the only goal of the game.
Boufal told BT Sport 1: "I am so angry to stay on the bench but the most important thing is to show the manager on the pitch I can play with this team."
He added: "It's very special (to score). The most important (thing) is we take the three points. I am so happy with the result because we win."
Southampton midfielder Steven Davies paid tribute to Boufal's goal.
He said: "It was a great piece of magic from this man to get the winner."
Pellegrino was diplomatic when asked about Boufal's reaction after scoring the goal.
The Southampton manager said: "I have a group of players and most of them can play, a lot of them deserve to play but the manager has to choose 11.
"It's a reaction when someone is outside (the team) and challenging to be there in the 11. I am happy with the goal, that's it."
West Brom manager Tony Pulis confirmed an injury worry for key defender Jonny Evans: "Jonny's (injury is his) groin, so we're not sure until we scan it tomorrow.
"Obviously everyone in Northern Ireland will be a little bit concerned about Jonny, and we are a little bit concerned."
