James Vince to share Hampshire captaincy

James Vince will split his captaincy duties with returning overseas player George Bailey for Hampshire this summer.

Vince will continue as club captain, leading the team in limited-overs fixtures, while Australian batsman Bailey - back for his second stint with the club on a two-year contract - will take charge in the Specsavers County Championship.

Hampshire director of cricket Giles White said: "We are fortunate to have two excellent captains within the squad, and a split between the formats seems a sensible option for us."

It emerged earlier this week that 34-year-old Bailey will make a late arrival this summer because he is about to get married. He will be unavailable in the championship until the match away to promoted Essex on May 19.
