Match report

Royal Challengers Bangalore earned a consolation 10-run win over Delhi Daredevils to end their IPL season, though they still finish bottom.

Skipper Virat Kohli (58 off 45 balls) struck a half century for RCB in the victory as his side posted 161-6 batting first.

Rishabh Pant continued his fine season with the bat with 45 off 34 deliveries but Delhi's chase faded away after a middle-order collapse of five wickets for 32 runs and they were ultimately bowled out for 151 with the last ball of the match.

After opting to bat first, RCB lost Vishnu Vinod (3) cheaply, but Chris Gayle (48 off 38) and Kohli finally fired with the bat, sharing in a 66-run stand for the second wicket - the pair striking three fours and three sixes each.

When the two departed, the RCB innings stuttered somewhat, before Pawan Negi (13no) lifted things with three consecutive fours in the final over.

Delhi's chase got off to a disastrous start when Sanju Samson was dismissed by Avesh Khan's second ball.

Karun Nair (26 off 22), Shreyas Iyer (32 off 30) and Pant helped recover the innings but all were guilty of getting out when well set.

Iyer's wicket - the third to fall - triggered a collapse, with Harshal Patel (3-43) then bowling Marlon Samuels to be on a hat-trick, before later taking the key wicket of Pant too.
