Mason Crane celebrated his maiden England Test call-up by spinning Hampshire to an eight-wicket victory over South Group table toppers Glamorgan in the NatWest T20 Blast.
Leg-spinner Crane was named in a 13-man squad for the first Test against West Indies on Thursday afternoon before promptly bagging 3-21 in the Sky Live clash at The Ageas Bowl.
The 20-year-old bowled Nick Selman (17) with a googly before having Chris Cooke (5) and Jacques Rudolph (20) stumped from successive deliveries as the visitors stumbled to 118-9, Andrew Salter (37no off 27) adding the only real impetus late on for the Welsh county.
Liam Dawson (2-15), the man Crane replaced in the England party, gave a reminder of his talents, too, ousting Aneurin Donald (0) and danger-man Colin Ingram (13) in his first two overs.
Hampshire skipper James Vince (60no off 41) then hammered a 32-ball half-century - his 21st in T20 cricket - as the hosts coasted home with 6.1 overs to spare, for the loss of only Calvin Dickinson (3) and Tom Alsop (28).
Hampshire's win takes them up to second, a point behind Glamorgan, with two group games to go - Vince's side visiting Kent on August 11 and hosting Somerset on August 18.
Tom Helm, meanwhile, held his nerve to bowl to Middlesex to a two-run win over Sussex at Lord's, the 23-year-old pacer conceding just two of the five runs Sharks required from the final over.
Helm bowled five dot balls, including having Jofra Archer caught out, as Sussex failed to top Middlesex's 147-6 despite a fourth fifty of the campaign for Chris Nash (69).
Stevie Eskinazi plundered an unbeaten 57 for Middlesex, with Paul Stirling adding 40, as the hosts moved level on points with fifth-placed Sussex.
