Captain Virat Kohli hit another century and Ravindra Jadeja made his first in a Test as India declared at 649 for nine on day two of the opening Test against West Indies, who then lost six wickets in Rajkot.
India resumed on 364 for four, helped by an historic debut Test hundred for 18-year-old opener Prithvi Shaw on the first day.
Kohli, 72 overnight, went on to complete a 24th Test century during the morning session, after wicketkeeper-batsman Rishabh Pant fell just short of his own hundred - out for 92, with India looking well set on 470 for five.
The captain was eventually dismissed for 139 just after lunch.
Jadeja, in his 38th Test match, had plundered an unbeaten 100 off 132 deliveries when the declaration came at tea, India aiming not to have to bat again.
Leg-spinner Devendra Bishoo finished with four wickets for 217 runs from 54 overs.
West Indies' reply soon faltered. Stand-in captain Kraigg Brathwaite, out for two, and fellow opener Kieran Powell, who made just one, both fell to Mohammed Shami inside the first five overs, the tourists with just seven runs on the board.
India's attack continued to pick up regular cheap wickets, before Roston Chase's unbeaten 27 and Keemo Paul (13 not out) offered some kind of late resistance as West Indies finished on 94 for six at the close, still some 555 runs behind.
