Graham Clark stars for Durham as they win Vitality T20 clash with Notts

Durham secured their fourth win on the bounce in the Vitality T20 Blast, cantering to a comfortable seven-wicket win over Nottinghamshire at Emirates Riverside.

Graham Clark played the pivotal role with the bat, scoring his second half-century in the tournament. He and Paul Collingwood were able to whittle down the total of 133 with relative ease.

Nottinghamshire were put into bat by Tom Latham and the visitors struggled to cope with the slow wicket, limited by losing wickets in the early stages.

Only Steven Mullaney was able to put forward a decent effort, although it was nowhere near enough for his team as Durham knocked off the runs with 19 deliveries to spare.

After inserting the Outlaws, Chris Rushworth enjoyed a great start to the game to remove the dangerous Riki Wessels, who edged the ball to Ryan Pringle at backward point.

Tom Moores had a charmed life early on, surviving a strong lbw appeal from Rushworth before being dropped by Stuart Poynter. However, Rushworth snagged his wicket in the end as the 21-year-old sliced a drive to Pringle.

Durham compounded their advantage when Nathan Rimmington dismissed William Fraine. The Outlaws were in need of a response and Samit Patel attempted to turn the tide with a couple of boundaries off Collingwood's bowling.

Patel did not look overly comfortable at the crease, but still made 32 before he skied a Collingwood delivery to Imran Tahir.

Tahir got into the wicket column, pinning Billy Root lbw for 16 going for the reverse sweep. Dan Christian was force to up the ante late in the innings, but paid the price being caught on the boundary for 10.

Mullaney did offer the late impetus needed to guide the Outlaws to an underwhelming score of 132 from their 20 overs.

Durham made a steady start to their innings, but Harry Gurney made the breakthrough with a peach of a delivery to remove Ben Stokes for 10.

Clark maintained his good form at the crease, although he was given a life by Mullaney on 17. The latter then produced a special moment, using a knuckle-ball to bowl Latham.

The arrival of Collingwood at the crease began to take the game away from the visitors. They were able to reach their fifty partnership off 32 deliveries, edging Durham towards the winning total.

Clark made his third fifty of the competition this term off 34 balls, smashing a short ball from Mullaney into the rope.

Clark fell to Ish Sodhi for 64 before the home side could secure the victory, with James Weighell ending the match in emphatic fashion with a six off Samit Patel.
