Match report
Babar Azam's century guided Pakistan to a comfortable victory in the first match of their one-day international series against Sri Lanka.
After the tourists' shock 2-0 win in the Test series, Pakistan benefited from the switch to white-ball cricket with an 83-run success in Dubai.
Azam's sixth ODI ton was a low-key knock, with 103 runs in 131 deliveries and just 20 of his total in boundaries.
Opener Fakhar Zaman (43) and all-rounder Shoaib Malik (81) played with greater freedom as Pakistan posted 292 for six.
The Sri Lankan chase buckled early and often, with the scoreboard reading 67 for five after 16 overs.
Rumman Raees and Hasan Ali took three wickets each, with half-centuries from Lahiru Thirimanne and Akila Dananjaya eking the final tally to 209 for eight.
Pakistan are Sky Bet's 4/9 favourites to win the second match of the series on Monday, with Sri Lanka 7/4.
