James Anderson is set to face fellow England bowler Stuart Broad in the Specsavers County Championship next month.
Anderson, England's record wicket-taker, will play two championship games for Lancashire in May as he prepares for the upcoming Test series against Pakistan.
Lancashire have announced the 35-year-old has been made available to play in the Division One games against Somerset and Nottinghamshire.
Broad, England's next most prolific wicket-taker, will be available for Notts in the game at Trent Bridge, which starts on May 11.
Lancashire head coach Glen Chapple told the county's website: "We know Jimmy loves playing for Lancashire, and having him back in contention will be a real boost."
Anderson will be expected to play for England in their two-Test series against Pakistan, which starts on May 24.
England then host India in a five-Test series from August 1.
