Dillian Whyte ahead of fight against Lucas Browne at the 02 Arena

Dillian Whyte has vowed to make Lucas Browne bleed when they fight at London's 02 Arena on Saturday.

The heavyweight, 29, fights to remain the number one contender to WBC champion Deontay Wilder, and in Australia's Browne has accepted his most dangerous challenge since his only defeat - to Anthony Joshua in 2015.

Whyte - the odds-on favourite at 1/3 with Sky Bet for victory - and the 38-year-old Browne will both hope victory secures them a fight with Wilder, and the former told Sky Sports: "There will be blood. I want to make him bleed. He's a big guy who likes to use his head and elbows. I'm looking to cut him up with my punches.

"It's either (Browne) or the champion (Wilder), and the champion doesn't want to fight. So I want to take a good, dangerous fight to learn and improve from. He's an undefeated fighter, former world champion, massive knockout ratio.

"If I beat him nobody can say, 'You're not credible or world title level'."

Whyte earlier weighed in at 18st 2lbs 2oz, almost eight pounds heavier than when he outpointed Dereck Chisora in his finest victory in December 2016, but still lighter than the 18st 11lbs 22oz Browne.

The undefeated Browne, who defeated Whyte's compatriot Richard Towers in 2013, had said: "This fight will propel me back into the standings where I deserve to be. If I can knock him out that's the end of it."
