Hughie Fury has pulled out of his WBO world heavyweight title challenge against Joseph Parker in New Zealand on May 6 due to injury.
Confirmation of the cancellation was made after the president of the World Boxing Organisation, Paco Valcarcel, said no title fight would take place in New Zealand on May 6 at the Spark Arena in Auckland.
Parker's promoter David Higgins told Fairfax Media: "I spoke to the WBO president and he said the Furys are claiming to have an injury and therefore we can fight whoever we want, when we want as a voluntary defence out of the top 15.
"I know exactly what [the injury] is; their moral compass has broken in half - a nasty fracture of the moral compass. It's not just Hughie, the whole camp has."
Fury (20-0, 10KOs), cousin of former world heavyweight champion Tyson Fury, told sportinglife.com earlier this month that he was relishing the opportunity and confident of taking Parker's belt.
