Anthony Joshua v Wladimir Klitschko rematch set for November in Las Vegas

Eddie Hearn is hopeful of an Anthony Joshua-Wladimir Klitschko rematch in Las Vegas on November 11 after applying for a Nevada promotion licence.

Joshua has been familiarising himself with the Vegas surroundings during the last two weeks after the boxing capital was selected ahead of the other potential locations, including Dubai, Nigeria and Cardiff.

Joshua halted veteran Klitschko in the 11th round of an epic contest in-front of 90,000 fans at Wembley Stadium back in April and the Briton is a 1/4 favourite with Sky Bet to win the rematch.

Klitschko (64-5, 53KOs) is 11/4 and the draw 28/1.

Hearn confirmed he had joined Joshua (19-0, 19KOs) on the trip to get his own necessary paperwork over the line to be able to promote the potential fight in the US state of Nevada, and has also been visiting possible venues.

"I met with the MGM, I met with the T-Mobile Arena - Vegas is the frontrunner," Hearn told Sky Sports News.

"November 11 is the date that's pencilled in. We've got a couple of weeks to get everything over the line."

The T-Mobile Arena has already hosted two fights for the hugely popular Mexican Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez and it was the chosen location for Floyd Mayweather's showdown with UFC star Conor McGregor on August 26.

A second world heavyweight clash between Joshua and Klitschko remains dependent on the 41-year-old Ukrainian accepting a rematch, but Hearn is confident another showpiece event in the US.

"I believe Wladimir Klitschko is going to take this fight and I really think Vegas will be the one," Hearn added.

"AJ has been out there about 10 days, enjoyed himself, got to know the area. The arenas are fantastic there, the amount of British fans that will travel will be an event, an occasion that I think we'd savour for a long time.

"Fingers crossed it's a party in Las Vegas on November 11."
