Carl Froch has told us that a win for "PR machine" Conor McGregor against Floyd Mayweather "would be to hear the final bell."
This weekend's big bout in Las Vegas has been making plenty of headlines during the build-up and Froch gives plenty of credit to UFC star McGregor for his role in getting people talking about the cross-code contest.
Cobra, though, just can't see the Irishman being able to get the better of the unbeaten Mayweather.
SKY BET'S ODDS: Mayweather to win on points at 5/2!
The former super-middleweight world champion even goes as far as to suggest that the Irishman will be pleased just to get through the fight.
"A win for McGregor would be to hear the final bell," Froch told sportinglife.com.
"If he can hear the final bell against Mayweather then that’s a massive win for him. I can’t see it happening though but stranger things have occurred.
"I think McGregor needs to come out early and enforce his height, reach, size and weight. He’s the younger fighter in this bout and more active than Mayweather so that is all to his advantage.
"However, it’s not enough for McGregor in my opinion."
Froch thinks backing Mayweather for a late stoppage is the way to go if looking for a bet on the fight.
"I haven’t seen a character like McGregor before. He’s a PR machine!
"Look what he’s done in UFC, his two fights against Nate Diaz were massive. He’s put himself in a position to fight one of boxing’s all-time best and I’ve got nothing but admiration for him.
"It’s a two-horse race and McGregor could land a freak shot or Mayweather gets injured.
"The smart money though has to be on Mayweather outclassing McGregor. It’s going to be a mid-to-late stoppage, maybe not a knockout but it will be classed as a KO or TKO because the referee is going to jump in and say ‘I’ve seen enough’.
"As long as Mayweather is fit and well, he’s going to have way, way, way, way too much for McGregor."
