BIBENDUM - 18:00 Newcastle (NAP)
He’s back into a 0-60 for the first time since winning over five furlongs here in November and BIBENDUM rates a bet.
Julie Camacho’s charge shaped very well when fourth in a much stronger race than this last time, faring best of those held-up. The return to six furlongs won’t be an issue and he’s a big player.
Thursday selections
STANNERS GLEN – 13.50 Doncaster (NAP)
Harry Fry is having a quiet time of things but his small team isn’t running too badly and he’s always of interest when popping up at Doncaster where he has a good record. STANNERS GLEN is his sole runner on Thursday’s card and this former p2p and Irish bumper winner made a pleasing enough stable debut at Taunton in December where he finished ahead of subsequent winner Is This For Real. He can improve from that and do his own bit for the Taunton form on Town Moor.
EASTERN SHORES – 14.35 Huntingdon
EASTERN SHORES is improving with racing and she could peak for her first win under Rules in the Hook Polo Novices’ Handicap Hurdle at Huntingdon. A good third at this track to Ambiente Friendly two starts ago, she did well to finish as close as she did at Catterick on better ground after that and you can see why Fergal O’Brien is persevering at two miles. A p2p winner, she’ll be going out in trip soon enough, but first she can have a say in this race with the ground in her favour.
SHERBORNE – 15.20 Lingfield
It could be worth taking a chance on Joe Tizzard’s SHERBORNE in the Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap Chase at Lingfield over 2m4f in the heavy ground. The 10-year-old takes on younger opposition here but he’s come down a few pounds after three runs post wind surgery and he likes both this track and heavy ground. Back down to his last winning mark, he looks a player at these weights in the conditions.
ALLEGRINO – 17.00 Southwell
ALLEGRINO wasn’t much cop at this track on her debut in November but she has improved in leaps and bounds since then and can enjoy her return in the Always Gamble Responsibly At BetMGM Handicap at Southwell. The daughter of Oasis Dream got off the mark in good style at Lingfield last time over seven furlongs and should have no problem with the drop back to six at this course.
