Winner of 3 of his half-a-dozen starts at 2 yrs, most notably a French listed race over 1m in September. However, he was disappointing in Group 3 company when last seen the following month and looks vulnerable under a penalty.

Signed off productive 2-y-o campaign with a decisive display in a listed event at Pontefract (1m, heavy) during the autumn. Switch to dirt was perhaps the reason for a poor display in Saudi Arabia when last seen in February and it would be no surprise were he to get back on track.

Left 2-y-o debut behind when winning a 6f Brighton maiden last spring and largely acquitted himself well in good company thereafter, last seen going close in a 9f Group 3 on the all-weather at Chantilly in November. On the downside, he's up against several promising, unexposed types here.

Built on highly promising debut near-miss when landing a 7f Glorious Goodwood maiden last summer. Creditable efforts in France on final 2 starts of his juvenile campaign, latterly finishing fourth of 10 in a Group 1 at Saint-Cloud (1¼m, soft), and he's a strong candidate back down in class.

Pulled clear of the rest when going down narrowly on debut at Sandown in September and duly went one better at York (1m, good) the following month. Good deal more on his plate now but he's in very good hands and there should be more to come from this well-bred colt.

Fetched €900,000 as a yearling and, having shaped very well when runner-up on debut at Haydock in September, he subsequently landed the odds with minimum fuss at Goodwood (9f, good to firm). Clearly a useful prospect for his top team and he has to be feared.

Out of a Group 3 winner in France and won by a street on his introduction in a Newcastle novice (1m) last month. This is a different ball game altogether but races on the Flat are rarely won by 14 lengths, which was the margin of his Newcastle success, and he's a pretty exciting prospect.

Forecasts

Poseidon's Warrior (9/5), Isaac Newton (3/1), Wareeth (4/1), Shayem (11/2), Bourbon Blues (11/1), Morshdi (14/1), Command The Stars (33/1)

Verdict

WAREETH falls squarely into the 'could be anything' category following last month's facile debut victory at Newcastle and he could be the pick of several promising colts. Godolphin's Poseidon's Warrior and Balldoyle's Isaac Newton both command plenty of respect, while Morshdi also possesses plenty of potential and must enter calculations, too.
