Promising novice who, having showed plenty when second on sole start between the flags and in a Chepstow bumper on Rules debut, made it third time lucky in this sphere with a decisive Ffos Las maiden (2½m, heavy) success last month. Remains open to improvement and he's the one to beat.

Six-figure point purchase who was highly tried after making a winning bumper debut last season. Excellent start over hurdles, third in a strong Ffos Las maiden before running out a decisive winner at Leicester. Seemed not to get home upped to 3m at Windsor since and respected back down in trip here.

Fetched £95,000 after winning the second of his 2 starts in maiden points and this brother to bumper winner Cantico should certainly have a future under Rules. One to note in the betting on hurdles debut.

Half-brother to fairly useful 2m hurdle winner Southoftheborder and modest hurdler Shean Glory (2m-19f winner). Third on sole start between the flags and the market should be revealing ahead of this Rules debut.

Runner-up both completed starts in Irish points but has shown little in a maiden/novice hurdle to date (irregular heartbeat in latter).

The step up to this trip brought about immediate improvement in BOBBY'S NELSON at Ffos Las where he landed a 12-runner maiden in pretty good style. There should be better to come from this 7-y-o and he is preferred to Swindon Village, who will be a threat back at 2½m having run out of petrol upped to 3m at Windsor last time. Point winner Boultydoolin is by far the most interesting of the remaining quartet.
