Seventh foal; brother to winners Capri (7½f-1m6½f, including at two, as well as Irish Derby/St Leger) and four other winners, two of them at two; dam French 1m4½f winner. Super pedigree and no surprise to see a winning debut.
€40,000 yearling; third foal; dam 1m2f winner; sister to three winners over middle distances; half-sister to two other winners, including German Group 1 1m2f Neatico. Another who makes appeal on pedigree and could make a nice debut.
Nice enough pedigree and was easy to back when 4-1 on debut at Leopardstown (7f, good) last month. Never really got much closer than his 5¾L fifth of 10, but showed some promise. Probably needs a good step up on that to win this.
Supported ahead of his debut into joint favouritism at the Curragh (7f, yielding). Wasn't asked many serious questions there when 5L seventh, but showing some promise. Step up in trip looks positive and should more more competitive this time.
Easy to back 14-1 chance on debut at Leopardstown (7f, good) last month, when he ran a bit on the green side in finishing 8½L eighth of 10. Needs a significant step up on that to get involved this time.
25,000gns yearling; third foal; dam 7f winning sister to 1m AW Listed winner Sentaril and half-sister to 5f Group 3 winner Enticing. Worth a market check on debut, but others make greater appeal.
Forecasts
Lust (13/8), Brazil (13/8), Los Andes (4/1), Popular Verdict (12/1), Fernando Vichi (16/1), Wonder Spirit (16/1)
There was a degree of promise in the debuts of both Los Andes and Lust, and it wouldn't surprise to see either get much closer. However, both Fernando Vichi and BRAZIL are newcomers that make appeal, and with his stellar pedigree, the latter is preferred to win first time out.
