Took a sizeable step forward when dominating in a 6f novice at Newcastle in December - form boosted since by the runner-up Nehaall; moves up to 7f for handicap debut; remains an interesting candidate.
Evidently was suited by cut underfoot when making a winning debut at Nottingham (6f, soft); raced freely in front when a beaten odds-on favourite next time; gelded and up in trip for handicap debut.
Explosive winner at York (6f, soft) on his second start; flopped in the Gimcrack and generally modest thereafter for Kevin Ryan; at least offered something to work with for the future on recent return to action at Newcastle (7f).
Cost 200,000 as a yearling; finished second (no match for the useful Lord Of The Lodge) at Haydock (6f, good to firm) in August, but bitterly disappointing on both of his other juvenile starts; gelded for handicap debut; stablemate of Soaring Star.
Off the mark at the seventh attempt when narrowly edging out a Sir Michael Stoute-trained runner in a 7f Chelmsford novice; heads back into handicap company off a 240-day absence from a career high mark (78).
Twice-placed on soft/heavy ground at Haydock (6f), including when beaten a neck by Tom Dascombe's Gifted Ruler; headgear now applied for handicap debut; first run beyond 6f (thought likely to stay based on pedigree).
Consistent throughout his juvenile season for Archie Watson - best run ironically came when turned over at short-odds at Bath (5f, good to firm) in July; goes handicapping for a different stable.
Steady and reliable as a juvenile - merely pushed out to justify favouritism at Pontefract (6f, good to soft) last September; up in trip (dam won over 7f & 1m) for handicap debut; stablemate of Silver Mission.
Strong in the market (and at the finish) when comfortably landing a 7f maiden at Southwell three-months ago; expected to figure in the mix if able to maintain such form for the switch back to turf; handicap debut.
Stablemate of the more appealing Alben Spirit; struck at the second time of asking when gamely seeing off Coastal Mist at Ripon (6f, good to soft); hasn't offered anything out of the ordinary in three subsequent starts; vulnerable?

Dulas (5/2), Danyah (11/2), Blackcastle Storm (6/1), Always Fearless (7/1), Alben Spirit (8/1), Jamais Assez (8/1), Soaring Star (10/1), Abstemious (11/1), Silver Mission (12/1), Mr Jones And Me (20/1), Black Caspian (22/1), Fanzone (33/1)
Dulas dominated when winning on the AW at Newcastle (6f), and although a noteworthy handicap debutant he could face competition for the lead from the likes of Danyah and Abstemious. Therefore, in a typically competitive three-year-old handicap the safest option is Richard Fahey's ALBEN SPIRIT. Assuming that Tony Hamilton can get early cover (drawn on the flank) aboard this Camacho gelding, it's perfectly feasible that his stamina (dam and half-brother were both winners over 7f) will come into play in the closing stages of the race. If applying the same logic, the Southwell scorer Blackcastle Storm must also be shortlisted.
- Alben Spirit
- Blackcastle Storm
- Jamais Assez
