Dual course winner, and gained back-to-back wins at Ayr and Musselburgh in May/June. Not competitive in more recent starts, though, and handicapper unwilling to cut him any slack.
Placed at Newmarket and Redcar in May/June, and quite possible he needed the run when only seventh of 10 behind Qaysar (winner next time) at Newbury earlier in the month. Has slipped below his last winning mark, and interesting.
Former John Gosden inmate who has yet to win in seven runs for this trainer. Excuses after a slow start here last time, but he tends to spoil his chance by racing freely, and remains opposable for win purposes.
Won a valuable 1½m handicap here last July, and lower in weights now despite scoring over this trip at Doncaster last month. Good third at Beverley last time, and every chance with a repeat. Jockey booking (a first for this yard) another positive.
Beaten favourite over 1½m here in June, and has disappointed on both starts since, albeit facing a stiff task at Goodwood last time. Has something to prove at present.
Best efforts this year have come over 1m here, and claims if building on latest third to Hortzadar off 1lb higher. Failed to fire over C&D in June, but sole win came off this mark over 1¼m last year, so worth another try.
Three times a C&D winner in 2017 for James Given. Had a mini-revival after moving to current yard in the spring, but form has dipped again in recent starts, and would make more appeal in a lesser handicap given his need to dominate.
Danny Tudhope is a very unusual booking for Chris Fairhurst, and the partnership are taken to strike with Doncaster winner BENADALID after a solid effort at Beverley last time. Dawaaleeb probably needed the run after a mid-summer break at Newbury last time, and has fallen to a winning mark, a comment which also applies to recent course third Garden Oasis, and that pair look the main dangers.
