Debut winner at Southwell last year (5f, Fibresand), but returned from a year off the track in late May and hasn't exactly thrived since. Drops back in trip, and switches back to the AW, but not fully convincing at present.
Won twice over 5f on the AW at Dundalk when with former trainer Dermot Weld. Not shone for this trainer just yet, but 5f on Tapeta is surely more suitable than the 6f on heavy ground that she encountered at Pontefract latest.
Won just once in 31 career starts (at Nottingham in 2013), but promises to take advantage of a falling mark one day, and was beaten by three necks when fourth to Paddy Power at Pontefract (5f heavy) late last month. AW debut.
Improved during the latter half of the season, winning three times, including in the mud over 6f at Doncaster. Continuing in decent order despite a rising mark (turf form with Suwaan), but lacks any real AW form of substance.
Consistent, but perhaps the handicapper has a grip on her as a result. No extra towards the finish when a close up fourth of nine to Tarboosh at Carlisle in August (5f good to soft), and now tries the AW route following a short break.
A dual 5f winner on turf, but bombed on his last start at Catterick in July (5f good to firm) and has been given some time off since to recover. Switched to the AW on his return to action from the same mark.
She's proved herself strongest on fast ground on turf, so theoretically this surface should be suitable. Remains 4lb above her last winning mark (6f Pontefract in August), hence the use of this 5lb claimer.
Most effective on Fibresand at Southwell, and has proved slightly disappointing on his last two starts on turf (soft and heavy). Worth another go at this track, with his sole previous course effort coming in a Class 4 handicap in September 2016.
Solid over C&D (1,2) and proved himself well suited to Tapeta earlier in the year. Ran a cracker when beaten a head by Somewhere Secret at Doncaster last month (5f soft), finishing 1¼L in front of the third placed Mutadel.
Doesn't win all that often, but has been beaten by just a neck on her two previous visits to this track, including by Newcastle standing dish Intense Romance in June (5f). Claims with a most talented rider booked, but inching up the weights.
Stayed on strongly to win by a nose over C&D in early January (beat Poppy In The Wind), and built upon that with a further Wolverhampton success so now 6lb higher. Off since April, so might need this, but capable at his best.
Has struggled badly in the main since beating Canford Bay by a head at Thirsk in July (5f maiden, good to firm). His mark has fallen 6lb accordingly, so he might not be one to write off fully just yet ahead of his AW debut.
Maintained his solid form since winning at Beverley in mid August (5f good), and finished second to You're Cool on the AW at Chelmsford latest despite a 3lb higher mark. Has performed creditably here in the past, so has place possibilities.
Now 10lb lower than when taking this contest by 1L in 2016 (off a fierce pace), but has endured a fairly torrid time on turf throughout 2017 and hasn't beaten a single rival in his last two starts. Risky, but noteworthy back at this track.
Forecasts
Noah Amor (4/1), Muatadel (5/1), Suwaan (6/1), Gamesome (7/1), Twizzell (7/1), Fruit Salad (10/1), Tilly Trotter (14/1), First Bombardment (14/1), Liquid (16/1), Sandra's Secret (22/1), Sumner Beach (25/1), Wadood (25/1), Bahango (28/1), Crosse Fire (80/1)
A competitive contest, with a number of these runners having strong claims on their very best form, including 2016 winner First Bombardment. However, plenty of horses come into this race in better form than the David O'Meara trained runner, most notably Suwaan, who proved himself to be a solid AW performer for Ruth Carr earlier in the year. His recent Doncaster effort represents strong form and he looks certain to be in the shake up tonight. Fruit Salad has also run well on both of her previous visits to this track and should be noted with the excellent Josephine Gordon booked despite inching slowly up the weights. However, strong preference is for the most infrequent winner GAMESOME. Paul Midgely is a regular source of winning sprinters overall, and this six-year-old looked more than a shade unlucky when a narrow fourth in a strong Pontefract handicap won by Paddy Power last month. He is untested on the AW, but this stiff track should suit, and expect him to come late on the scene from a low draw.
