Compton Place filly whose dam was a two-year-old sprint winner. Yard in excellent form in recent weeks but this filly was well beaten at Ascot on debut and likely to be in need of more time.
Iffraaj filly, cost 62,000 gns as a yearling. Half-sister to two-year-old winning sprinter Stringybark Creek and dam was a half-sister to Group winner Lend A Hand. Yard been a little quiet of late and this filly finished well beaten on debut; looks up against it.
Dutch Art filly and full-sister to winning sprinter Dutch Destiny. Dam a Listed sprint winner and plenty to like about her pedigree. Yard capable of readying one and eye-catching jockey booking suggests she could be useful.
Dark Angel filly, cost €40,000 as a yearling and €135,000 as a Breeze-Up purchase in May. Dam a half-sister to Group 3 winner and Norweigen 1,000 Guineas winner Dingle View. Very nice debut at Windsor and gave the impression she would appreciate the run. Not beaten far there and leading claims in this contest with that under her belt.
Dark Angel filly, cost £36,000 as a yearling. Well beaten on both starts to date and the type to do better in handicaps. Drops back in trip.
Mayson filly, half-sister to winning 5f two-year-old Scooch. Improved markedly from her debut to finish runner-up at Catterick last time, finishing just 1½L off a rival rated 82. Trainer excels with his sprinters and this filly sets a solid standard for this rest to aim at; with the champion jockey booked, she should go well with more improvement likely.
Acclamation filly, cost €24,000 as a foal and 110,000 gns as a two-year-old in May. Trainer not known for his juvenile winners but this recruit ran well on debut at Nottingham, just failing to reel in the winner. Entitled to progress from that and jockey booking is a positive.
Sir Prancealot filly, cost €5,000 as a Breeze-Up purchase last month. Dam was unraced but related to winners and market likely to be the best guide on debut. Withdrawn at Goodwood last month.
Captain Gerrard filly, cost €5,000 as a Breeze-Up purchase in May. Half-sister and dam both 5f two-year-old winners. Yard have been quiet of late though and probably best watched on debut.
Forecasts
Global Rose (2/1), Dutch Desire (11/4), Princess Keira (3/1), May Girl (7/1), Highland Mary (14/1), Counterfeit (25/1), Comselle (66/1), Violet Beauregarde (66/1), Rachael's Rocket (80/1)
May Girl's run at Catterick last time out just about sets the standard here but it's GLOBAL ROSE who may be worth taking a chance on. She was a little green on debut but she produced an impressive performance to finish second and she should come on for that. Dutch Desire looks like an interesting debutante and may prove best of the rest.
- Global Rose
- May Girl
- Dutch Desire
