Plenty to like on paper but hadn't set the world slight before taking a big step backwards when well beaten over 1m1f at Carlisle on soft ground last time. Interesting to see how he responds to blinkers for his handicap debut.
Newcastle maiden winner (7f, AW) who has struggled to make an impact in three handicaps so far, including in a first-time hood latest. Cheekpieces now added to the mix and - like his stablemate - has plenty to prove.
Victorious over 1m on the AW at Kempton when making his handicap debut in November. First run since when denied a clear run over 1m at Chepstow in May (good to firm) and remains one to be interested in off his present mark.
A maiden winner at Bath (extended 5f, firm) in May but well-held in handicaps either side of that success, most recently when looking short of pace at Windsor over 6f. First attempt at 1m today.
Much-improved to win on his handicap debut over 1m on the AW in January and looked to be crying out for a return to this trip when fourth over 7f at Sandown last time. Has to be of interest with the yard going well.
Trained in France last year where she showed some ability in maidens up to 6f. An encouraging 2L fourth on her handicap debut for this yard over 1m at Newmarket last month and likely to step up on that with De Sousa now in the plate. Shortlisted.
Never disgraced without looking like winning a maiden but behind Revel when only 10th at Sandown (7f, good to firm) on handicap debut. Likely to improve over 1m with cheekpieces added but present mark may overestimate him.
Runner-up on his sole juvenile start and went one better when comfortably winning at Chepstow (1m, good to soft) on his return. Didn't appear to see out the 1m2f trip on his handicap debut at Leicester but dropped 3lb as he returns to 1m.
Produced a rather laboured effort on soft ground over 1m at Wetherby last time, having appeared to handle a similar surface when third over 7f here previously. Still early days, worth a second look as he makes a handicap bow on better ground.
Twice a winner as a juvenile last season on ground with give underfoot but below par this season until springing back into life when a close third at Windsor (1m good to firm). Not guaranteed to reproduce that level of form here.
Signs of ability in maidens, including over 1m, and doing best work late on when a close-up fourth on his handicap debut over 7f at Kempton last week. Obvious claims back over a more suitable trip for a yard which won this prize a year ago.
Won on turf for Tommy Stack at Naas last September (1m, yielding) but largely uninspiring for new yard this season, most recently when well beaten over 1m2f at Windsor. Hard to enthuse over despite being dropped 3lb.
Maiden form wasn't devoid of promise but he didn't appear to see out the trip when soundly beaten over 1m2f at Windsor (good to firm) on his handicap debut. Return to 1m will be appreciated but not obviously well-handicapped.

So Hoity Toity (4/1), Know The Truth (11/2), Evening Hill (6/1), Revel (13/2), Stararchitecture (8/1), Habbad (10/1), Zebulon (12/1), Fastar (12/1), Fastnet Spin (14/1), Tullinahoo (14/1), Native Soldier (16/1), Milburn Jack (16/1), Tidal Watch (20/1), Beaconsfield (20/1), Olympic Legend (33/1), Red Emperor (33/1)
A tough race to get a handle on with so many of these three-year-old's open to any amount of improvement but Andrew Balding won this race 12 months ago and his Know The Truth has to go on any shortlist after an eye-catching handicap debut over an inadequate 7f. Even so, equal encouragement could be gleaned from SO HOITY TOITY's opening effort for Hughie Morrison at Newmarket and, with Silvestre De Sousa now providing added assistance from the saddle, this prize may be within range. Starchitecture, Habbad and Revel are also of interest.
