A first time hood did the trick when scoring on on his handicap debut at Kempton in April and he nearly followed up at Windsor next time too. His latest effort off a revised mark at Nottingham was less encouraging and he looks there to be shot at.
Improved to make a winning nursery debut at Leicester on final juvenile start and shaped well when second at Bath (1m, firm) on his return. Took a big step backwards when soundly beaten on soft ground at Windsor latest, so any easing in ground would be a concern.
Promising effort when just touched off at Salisbury on her debut (7f, soft) and her best subsequent effort also came on an easy surface when third at Newmarket on her penultimate start. Below par at Ripon latest but won't mind any rain and looks a player.
Hasn't looked the easiest of rides but that never stopped her winning emphatically on the fibresand on her penultimate start. Below that level when sixth of eight over 1m2f at Salisbury (good to firm) latest and doesn't look well handicapped.
Has never looked like winning a race in three starts in maiden company over 7f but comes from a good family and no surprise if he proved a completely different proposition now handicapping over a longer trip. Stable going well. respected.
It's now 13 starts without a win, having finished mid-division behind Chance To Dream over 1m at Windsor (good to soft) last time out. No obvious reason why he should suddenly oblige now after just a 1lb drop.
Little impact in sprint maidens at two but signs of improvement when plugging on to snatch fourth behind easy winner, Lady Freyja, over 7f at Newmarket on his return. Sure to come on for that and has to be on interest now going handicapping.
Expensive purchase who hasn't remotely looked like living up to his price-tag in maidens, beaten more than 10L at Doncaster (1m, good to soft) latest. Should fare better now handicapping but remains far from convincing.
Has never really kicked on from a promising debut at Windsor a year ago, though he was placed over 1m (good) at Windsor on his reappearance from a 3lb higher mark. Respected here on that form but two lesser efforts since temper enthusiasm.
Glimpses of promise as a juvenile, notably when a runner-up in a nursery at Chester (7f, good), but little impact in two handicaps this season. Plenty to prove as he steps up in trip with a tongue tie introduced.
Placed in each of his first two starts on the AW last summer but signed off with a poor run and found it tough going on his handicap bow at Nottingham (1m, good to soft) on his reappearance. Much more needed.

Dance Teacher (3/1), Badenscoth (7/2), Flood Defence (4/1), Raj Balaraaj (8/1), Canford Tor (9/1), Heart Of Gold (10/1), Challow (11/1), Sakurajima (11/1), Kyllachys Tale (16/1), Sir Gnet (16/1), Herm (16/1), Salieri (16/1)
Flood Defence shaped like a winner in waiting when defying a poor draw and traffic problems to finish second at Nottingham last time whilst Dance Teacher also has form on the board which makes her an attractive proposition in this company. All that said, Henry Candy has his string in terrific form and his only runner on the card - CANFORD TOR - could prove a totally different proposition now going handicapping over a longer trip, with similar comments applying to Heart of Gold.
- Canford Tor
- Flood Defence
- Heart Of Gold
