Nicely drawn here in stall 2 if he wants to go forward although there are a few other prominent racers in this. Has shown some solid form this year in a couple of start and not easily ruled out.
Better drawn now than he was when scoring over C&D a couple of starts ago off a mark 66 but has found life a little tougher since off an 8lb higher mark. Not looked in the same form since and looked a little difficult last time; well drawn to go forward but will face competition for the lead.
Debut for this yard saw him score on the AW at Wolverhampton over 5f with the blinkers on in a maiden. Has run creditably in handicaps since and finished runner-up at Redcar last time (blinkers off) off this same mark when favourite and this strong traveller could get a race run to suit here.
His first efforts were promising but he never really built on those and he has become disappointing. Now gelded and back from a break he can only be watched against some more in-form rivals.
His only win in 14 starts came here when successful in a 5f maiden on quick ground although he has run creditably since with a runner-up slot being gained last time out Thirsk. Should be competitive but would be disappointing if one of these didn't have enough dash/improvement to beat him.
The positive is a falling mark that he may be able to take advantage of although his form is a rather mixed bag overall. Still only a 5f maiden win to his name though and may need some further help from the handicapper.
Formerly with William Haggas but showed regressive form for that yard and remains a maiden. Has shown glimpses of form for this yard but his temperament looks as though it may get the better of him.
Her effort on her return to action was decent enough at Thirsk but she failed to build on that last time and more will be needed to take a hand here.
Forecasts
Suitcase 'n' Taxi (9/4), Halawain (4/1), Sheepscar Lad (9/2), Logi (5/1), Alfie's Angel (10/1), Prazeres (12/1), Ventura Secret (12/1), Little Miss Lola (25/1)
Even in this small field the draw and pace may still play a part with plenty of these likely to want to go forward. Suitcase ‘N’ Taxi has quite managed to build on his C&D win here in May and it may well be that Halawain can reverse that form. Sheepscar Lad is consistent enough while more pace will be supplied by Prazeres although he looks to be going the wrong way. A strongly run race may well play into the hands of LOGI who has run some solid races in defeat and should appreciate this stiffer track.
- Logi
- Halawain
