Free horse racing selections for Tuesday July 16

David Clough heads to Bath for his best bet of the day on Tuesday and he has a selection for every race in the UK and Ireland.

NAP: Mister Chiang (3.00 Bath)

Next Best: Requiems Dream (2.30 Bath)

Mister Chiang fits the bill in the Value Rater Racing Club Handicap at Bath.

Mark Johnston's colt fulfils the critera of Tuesday's race title, because he may well be allowed to start at tempting odds despite his narrow win at Pontefract last time.

Mister Chiang was even-money favourite at the start of this month to continue his recent improvement in first-time blinkers.

He managed to do so by only a neck, however, and is therefore up just 3lb for his trouble.

The three-year-old needed the stiff finish in West Yorkshire to get the better his contemporaries, to whom he was conceding weight all round over a mile and a half, and the extra distance and surefire fast ground here are likely to play to his strengths again.

Half-an-hour before Mister Chiang raises his effort, Johnston may well be on the mark with Requiems Dream in the Proper Cornish Maiden Auction Fillies' Stakes.

The daughter of Dream Ahead may have been unfortunate to bump into a very useful sort when runner-up to Under The Stars at Ripon little over a week ago and can go one better.

The Corpracare Handicap is also over five furlongs, and Glory Fighter is a most interesting contender.

Charlie Hills' charge has been gelded since when last seen more than 10 months ago, but his novice win over Soldier's Call - albeit on the latter's debut - is still notable in this context.

Group and Listed company then proved beyond Glory Fighter, but he may well find a comfort-zone return in this 0-90 handicap.

Beverley stages a trappy card, and once again it may pay to identify a little value rather than try to pinpoint surefire winners.

Two that fall into the first of those brackets are Sapphire Jubilee and Golden Guest.

Ollie Pears' Sapphire Jubilee twice outran her long odds in all-weather novice races, against decent opposition, before failing to run any sort of race on handicap debut at Carlisle.

The heavy ground there at the end of May is an entirely feasible excuse, and conditions will be very different in the Malcolm Greenslade Doncaster LVA Stalwart Memorial Handicap.

Golden Guest appeared to be running back into a little form on the all-weather in the spring - yet in the first division of Ann Eves Birthday Handicap, he will run off a rating 2lb lower lower than when he last won under similar conditions just over a year ago.

Following three successive placed efforts, She Looks Like Fun will not need to improve too much to open her account for Karl Burke in the MansionBet Novice Auction Stakes at Nottingham.

At Southwell, newcomer Heart Of A Lion is well-bred and well-connected in the closing DMRC Benevolence Intermediate Open National Hunt Flat Race.
