Sunday's racing preview and selections

Daban can deliver in the Qipco 1000 Guineas Stakes at Newmarket, says Anita Chambers. She has a tip for every race.

Daban can deliver in the Qipco 1000 Guineas Stakes at Newmarket.

John Gosden's filly has looked seriously good in two career starts thus far and can take her game to a new level in the Fillies' Classic.

The daughter of Acclamation was a little keen early on in renowned Guineas trial, the Nell Gwyn Stakes, at this track last month, but once she got settled, the result was never in doubt.

Daban galloped on zealously in a really strong renewal of the Group Three to score by an eased-down three-quarters of a length.

Frankie Dettori was adamant afterwards that she would get a mile, and it is difficult to oppose that theory, such was her dominance at the line.

Daban faces a worthy foe in Fillies' Mile heroine Rhododendron, the likely favourite trained by Aidan O'Brien, but the Gosden horse looks open to limitless potential and might just have the edge.

A tough filly with a sound mind, she should also be in her element running on fast ground, which seems a highly likely scenario.

It is hard not to imagine Rhododendron finishing in the money and she can chase Daban home, while the once-race Talaayeb is an exciting horse and has the scope to trouble the judge at a decent price.

Nezwaah can make a victorious seasonal bow in the Charm Spirit Dahlia Stakes.

Roger Varian's charge made some huge leaps last summer, stepping up from a Listed win at Newcastle last June to tackling top filly La Cressonniere in a French Group Three last August.

Nezwaah was outclassed that day but showed she is no forlorn hope in good company when running So Mi Dar to half a length at Yarmouth last September before being beaten just two lengths when seventh in a Canadian Grade One on her final start of the year.

A repeat of that kind of form should put her in the mix here and a drop back to nine furlongs is not a concern as she has shown an aptitude for a mile in the past too.

Horseplay was a 13-length winner of a back-end maiden last term and she can pick up where she left off in the Tweenhills Pretty Polly Stakes.

Beaten just over three length on her Ascot debut last July, Andrew Balding gave her plenty of time between runs as she did not reappear until October when she promptly hosed up over an extended mile at Nottingham.

This 10-furlong trip would not appear to be a problem at all judged on that performance and she could be a fair prospect for the Cliveden Stud team.

Custom Cut can make a successful return to Leopardstown in the Ard Glen Construction Amethyst Stakes.

David O'Meara's eight-year-old has registered two Pattern-race victories at the Foxrock circuit and found only Irish 2,000 Guineas hero Awtaad too strong on his latest visit last September.

It was a shade disappointing he was unable to make the most of having his sights lowered in a conditions event at Thirsk a couple of weeks ago, but seven furlongs was always going to be on the short side for him and he is expected to show his true colours back over a mile in Ireland.

Aidan O'Brien can extend his tremendous record in the Derrinstown Stud Derby Trial with Yucatan.

A son of Galileo out of the great racemare Six Perfections, the three-year-old is bred to be a champion.

His CV is so far lacking a big-race victory, but he performed admirably in both the Beresford Stakes and the Racing Post Trophy as a juvenile and he should improve a good deal for his comeback run in the Ballysax Stakes at this track a few weeks ago.
