Richard Fahey guide to his Saturday team

Our star columnist with a horse-by-horse guide to his Saturday team including Space Traveller in the Clipper Logistics Boomerang Stakes at Leopardstown.

Saturday:

13:30 Chester - Deb's Delight

He's carrying a penalty for winning on debut at Carlisle which is tough but a run around Chester will do him the world of good. He's a nice horse and is capable of running well.

13:30 Chester – Sheung Wan

I'd be surprised if he finished in front of Deb's Delight even getting the weight but this is a great place to start him out. I love the Roodee for educating the lazy, backward two-year-olds. You need to bounce them out and get them racing and they learn so much from it. It'd be a surprise if he won on debut but he's a colt who will learn plenty.

14:45 Chelmsford - Zap

He’s got himself well handicapped and is in great form at home. He’ll run well here if he handles the track on his second start down there.

15:50 Chester - Gabrial The Devil

He’s got plenty of weight on his back and just hasn’t fired on his last two starts at Goodwood and Haydock. He’s got a decent draw but needs to bounce back.

15:50 Chester - Gabrial The Tiger

I’d imagine six furlongs around here will be sharp enough for him and we’ll need them to go flat out up front and see if he can get back at them late.

15:55 Chelmsford - Toronado Queen

She did well to win first time out at Catterick but will need to improve to follow up in this better race under a penalty. She is quite nice though.

16:25 Chester - Gabrial The Wire

He's a funny horse. I told Marwan Koukash he didn't like Chester only for him to go and bolt up here in June. On a going day, and he has plenty of them, he's capable of going well as he has some solid form to his name.

16:50 Leopardstown – Space Traveller

We're very happy with this horse. He worked extremely well the other day and the step up to a mile at York last time really suited him. I’m a little surprised Danny Tudhope has chosen to ride Suedois ahead of him and hope I’m right and he’s wrong. I’m very pleased with him heading over there.

17:00 Chester – Indomeneo

He’s been in the grip of the handicapper but has won six times and done his owners proud. He’s in good form heading into this but would appreciate any ease in the ground.

17:05 Chelmsford – Robeam

He’s in the sales at Doncaster in a couple of weeks and is a good, solid, hardy horse. He’s consistent and will run his race again if he takes to the track.

17:15 Musselburgh – Parion

She’s a disappointing filly who is another in the sales in a fortnight. I’d like to see her run well here but she does need to bounce back from a poor run at Thirsk.

17:45 Musselburgh - Mighty Spirit

I’d love to win a race with her. Earlier in the season I got a flurry of emails, tweets and texts after she was turned over at 1/3 at Beverley but the winner there, Living In The Past, went on to win the Sky Bet Lowther. It just shows you never know what you’re running against.

This looks the right race for my filly and I really hope she wins. The fear is she’s had quite a few tough races but she seems very well at home.

18:15 Musseburgh - Calvados Spirit

He's been running OK and it was great to see him win at Newmarket the last day. He'd have a chance of following up from three pounds higher but it looks competitive.

18:45 Musselburgh - Beethoven's Gal

She came here from Ireland and had a wind op before her first run for us at Pontefract. I thought she ran OK there and stepping up in trip here looks the right move. I hope she runs well.

18:45 Musselburgh – Lightning Attack

He ran very well on his reappearance here in April and hasn't run a bad one since. He’s yet to win one though and I’d love to see him get his head in front.
