Ben Linfoot has been among the winners on Friday and David Ord has his best bets from around the tracks this Saturday.
Saturday selections
BELVEDERE BLAST - 17:15 Market Rasen (NAP)
He’s a three-time winner at the course and BELVEDERE BLAST looks ready to resume winning ways.
Adrian Keatley’s charge was nearest at the finish when third at Uttoxeter last time and should be cherry ripe now after two runs following his winter break. He’s two pounds below his last winning mark and of obvious interest.
WINDS OF WINTER - 15:10 Cartmel
She looks to have been laid out for a bid to repeat her 2025 success in this race and WINDS OF WINTER makes plenty of appeal.
George Bewley’s charge is only a pound higher this time around and has shaped of late as of running back into form, under front-running tactics. Her three wins last season all came when ridden with restraint and it would be no surprise if connections reverted back to that plan on Saturday.
JOHN HARRISON - 16:52 Newmarket
Moon Warp is clearly a potential improver on handicap debut for the Prescott team but JOHN HARRISON looks well worth a try at this trip and rates a bet for the in-form Alan King yard
There was plenty of encouragement to be taken from his reappearance third at Salisbury last month, his first start since a gelding operation. He finished strongly to be never nearer when beaten a length and a head behind Hot And Gold suggesting that he'll stay ten furlongs. He’s low mileage and capable of better.
ALL MOONSHINE - 17:20 Newbury
She ran much better than the finishing position suggests on her return from a break in the Kensington Palace at Royal Ascot and ALL MOONSHINE should make a bold bid under top weight.
A winner of her previous three starts, she led home the group on the far side that day and was still well in contention overall until the final half furlong. She’s clearly very capable of being involved in the finish of this from an unchanged mark.
ACT OF VIOLENCE - 17:35 Ripon
He was unruly in the stalls on stable debut for Tony Carroll but still shaped OK at Chepstow and you sense his new team will soon work the oracle with ACT OF VIOLENCE.
He’s a very well handicapped horse off a perch of 54, down a pound for the last run and fully 12 below his last wining mark. He’s a course-and-distance winner, Silvestre de Sousa rides and the forecast strong pace is another plus too.
POOR RELATION - 19:33 Nottingham
She’s readily forgiven a below-par run at Ffos Las last time and there’s a chance an opening mark of 68 underestimates POOR RELATION.
She’s definitely bred to be better than that and went too hard in heavy ground at Salisbury on her return before finding the racing coming too soon in Wales next time. We haven’t seen the best of her yet and she starts in handicaps on a much livelier surface.
BOILERMAKER - 19:50 Doncaster
Willow Wood will be very popular here in her bid to follow-up an impressive success at Ffos Las but will encounter vastly different going conditions at Town Moor and a progressive rival in BOILERMAKER.
The selection is proven on fast ground and took another step forward when third at Goodwood last time, pulling seven lengths clear of the rest when behind the demoted La Peregrina and Celstarak. His mark is unchanged and cheekpieces go on for the first time.
