HIGHLANDS LEGACY - 1.58 Newbury (NAP)
The form of his last run at Aintree is working out very well and the unexposed HIGHLANDS LEGACY can give Jonjo and AJ O’Neill a welcome winner.
He made a successful start over the larger obstacles at Worcester before chasing home Mambonumberfive at Aintree.
The winner that day has gone on to follow-up here when beating Mighty Bandit from a five pounds higher mark and the third home Glengouly landed the Support The Hunt Family Fund December Gold Cup Handicap Chase at the weekend.
From a three pounds higher perch the selection has to be of serious interest.
INTERVENTION - 11.35 Lingfield
He’s been out of sorts of late but his handicap mark is in freefall and INTERVENTION is very well treated if reviving.
He’s now a pound lower than this last winning rating and his form figures at Lingfield read 225112741. He is the most likely front-runner in the race an is forecast to be given an easy time of it. It might be the key to him sparking back to life.
AUTHOCELTIC - 12.43 Ludlow
He’ taken very well to fences and AUTHOCELTIC is fancied to follow-up his recent victory at Wincanton.
Second on his reappearance at Newton Abbot, he improved to beat Star Of Affinity by three-and-and-three-quarter lengths having gone to the front two out. He had plenty in hand there and while up six pounds, he should come forward again for the in-form Jane Williams team.
WESTCOMBE - 4.05 Kempton
He’s a typical Sir Mark Prescott improver and WESTCOMBE looks to have been found the ideal spot to open his account.
He’s gone well on both starts in handicaps to date, touched off by Must Believe at Southwell last time. The step up to a mile-and-a-half will suit on Wednesday and he’s the one runner in the field with the scope for significant progress.
