PINK JAZZ returned to winning ways over a longer trip here a week ago in a first-time application of tongue-tie and blinkers. There could be more to come in the headgear as he won over track and trip earlier in the year. Several have been thereabouts over 7f recently with Beau Geste, Stoney Lane and Golden Cygnet all finishing closer at this venue and Merweb not beaten far at Lingfield. But Corndavon Lad has tumbled down the weights and makes more appeal having shown more over a mile at Newcastle last time.

Word Of Honour scored over track and trip earlier but never figured back here raised only 2lb. Olivers Pursuit won by a neck here last month to finally open his account but is 4lb higher whereas Dawn View slips further down the weights still looking for her first win. Kyllachy Dragon looks no nearer ending a long losing run so a speculative vote goes to GYPSY DANCER debuting for new connections, despite having her first start since March when a close-up fourth at Dundalk.

Rockesbury and Raspberry were both due to run yesterday at Southwell and Wolverhampton respectively. The Mackem Torpedo and Fard return to their winning trips having been beaten over 7f last time. The former scored at Newcastle earlier and the latter was successful at Kempton but KNOCKABOUT QUEEN (NAP) was winning off a 10lb higher mark earlier in the year and, after placing at Lingfield last time, a return to winning ways looks imminent for Tony Carroll’s filly. First Excel and Sharrabang have placed at Southwell recently though the latter has won here in the past.

It Must Be Faith is penalised for winning at Kempton though has won off a higher mark here in the past and is preferred to Marwari, who went close over the minimum trip at Newcastle earlier in the week. Miracle Garden and Billyoakes have both placed over 7f here recently but SUPERCALI has more scope. She posted her best effort by some way at Redcar on her handicap debut, despite failing to get a clear run, so Brian Ellison’s filly may prove the one to side with.

Chookie Dunedin returned to winning ways over track and trip a week ago but is 4lb higher. He’d earlier finished behind MYTHMAKER when the latter was beaten only a neck here a fortnight ago and Bryan Smart’s charge can confirm superiority in the process of going one better. A Sure Welcome just failed to catch the winner over course and distance last time and is another to consider having finished in front of both Jackstar and Steelriver on that occasion.

Thrill Seeker has failed to shown any progress in three starts and headgear is fitted in the hope of improvement. GOLDEN AGE showed some ability over track and trip on his debut without threatening the winner but should know more today and is preferred to Presumptuous. The latter finished a moderate fifth over 6f on his introduction while the newcomer Makeen, whose unraced dam is related to winners in North America, won’t need to be anything out of the ordinary to get involved.

TREVIE FOUNTAIN had tumbled down the weights since joining Ruth Carr during the summer and took advantage when scoring over track and trip recently. There could be more to come over today’s distance and he’s just preferred to Angels Faces. The latter has also improved for the step up to 7f and finished in front of Cindy Looper when runner-up here last month while Dors Toyboy found only one too good at Chelmsford last week and could also figure.

Kick On Kick On has returned a losing favourite the last twice and finished behind runner-up Zulu Zander at Lingfield last time. Agent Shiftwell won at Sandown during the summer but returns to the all-weather 4lb higher while Another Angel drops back down in distance after placing over 6f here. SHOW ME A SUNSET failed to land the odds upped to 6f at Newcastle but had gone close over track and trip before that and James Fanshawe’s charge gets another chance with headgear applied for his handicap debut.

Spirit Of Rowdown bids for a hat-trick raised a further 4lb having already beaten Zoolander, Classy Dame, Vivid Imagination and Beau Tinker. He should be in the mix again but MAXINE was beaten only a length over course and distance on her handicap debut and any further progress should see Harry Dunlop’s filly off the mark in this. Flotilla, Step Sister and Kingdom Found are others with scope and the latter pair go handicapping for the first time.
