1-7 CE LA VIE Keith Dalgleish
Google Ce La Vie and a popular ditty from B*witched is your top result – and that will still be the case on Sunday evening as this filly looks completely out of her depth judged on a reappearance seventh at Naas. She’s in good hands but this is way too deep.
1-1 DABAN John Gosden
Two from two and much to like about her performance in winning the Nell Gwyn last time. She responded well to pressure despite facing more experienced rivals and will learn plenty. Physically she’s the type to keep progressing and is the pick of the home team.
0 DREAM START John Ryan
No show in the Wood Ditton on sole start. Enough said.
1132- FAIR EVA Roger Charlton
Looked the part when storming away from her rivals in the Princess Margaret Stakes at Ascot but came up short in the Lowther and Rockfel subsequently. The subject of encouraging reports and in excellent hands, it’s far too early to give up on her especially as physically she’s the sort to thrive at three.
0212222-1 HYDRANGEA Aidan O’Brien
Fair to say she’s more exposed than most in here – but also that her form on the book is stronger than many. Did well to win the Leopardstown trial last month, showing a commendable attitude, but a Fillies’ Mile defeat at the hooves of Rhododendron is fresh in the memory and hard to see why she’ll get the better of her stablemate back here.
13310-4 INTRICATELY Joseph O’Brien
Fourth to Hydrangea at Leopardstown but shaped well there, running on well under hands and heels having found herself in an unpromising position. Can kick on from that and makes some each-way appeal.
1642719-6 KILMAH Mark Johnston
Was busy last season and returned with a solid effort when sixth to Daban in the Nell Gwyn. Her standout piece of form was a win in the Prestige Stakes at Goodwood but even that leaves with a bit to find.

411-3 POET’S VANITY Andrew Balding
Very progressive at two, winning the Oh So Sharp Stakes on her third and final start, and beaten just two lengths by Daban in the Nell Gwyn on her reappearance. Was thought to be in the need of the run that day so it was an encouraging return for all she was well placed throughout. Should stay a mile but needs to improve for it to win a Guineas.
13114-5 QUEEN KINDLY Richard Fahey
Won the Lowther at York during a fine juvenile campaign (beating Fair Eva) and the jury is out over whether she stayed seven furlongs on her reappearance as she wasn’t suited by how the race unfolded when fifth in the Fred Darling. There has to be a significant doubt as to whether she’ll get a strongly-run mile here though and her big days could be when returned to sprinting later in the campaign.
21131- RHODODENDRON Aidan O’Brien
Only third behind Intricately and Hydrangea in the Moyglare Stud Stakes but comprehensively reversed form with the latter with a stylish win in the Fillies’ Mile at Newmarket next time. Will be very hard to beat here if in the same mood here and is bred to make into an even better three-year-old. Proven at the course and ticks all the right boxes.
1- TALAYEB Owen Burrows
From a family that has served her owner very well and made a fine start to her career when winning a maiden at this course in September. Hasn’t raced since but impressed onlookers with a racecourse gallop during the Craven Meeting. Firmly in the ‘could be anything’ category and a useful prospect at the very least but this is a stern test for a filly on her second career start.
2123-2 UNFORGETABLE FILLY Hugo Palmer
Showed significant improvement when second to Daban in the Nell Gwyn but hard to argue she was unlucky and difficult to see why she’ll reverse form here for all she’ll be suited to stepping up to a mile.
1443313-2 URBAN FOX James Tate
Busy at two and at least as good as ever when chasing home Dabyah in Fred Darling on her reappearance. Uncomplicated tactically and proven at the track and trip, she’ll run her race but hard to believe she’ll be good enough to shake up the principals.
331-2 WINTER Aidan O’Brien
Touched off by Hydrangea in the Leopardstown trial, she remains with potential and will be suited by this return to a mile. However connections have others with stronger paper credentials at least.
CONCLUSION: Not an original selection but RHODODENDRON sets a good standard on her Fillies’ Mile success and looks the sort to be even better at three. She gets the vote ahead of old rival Intricately who can come out on top of those who ran in the Leopardstown trial. Daban looks the safest option from the home team.
1st Rhododendron
2nd Intricately
3rd Daban
