1000 Guineas-winning trainer George Boughey
George Boughey: Man to follow at Lingfield

Catching Pigeons column & tips: Weekend best bets

Our gallops guru has all the strongest fancies from around the yards and George Boughey and Ryan Moore are backed to be among the Lingfield winners.

Al Agaila - 2.47 Lingfield

Al Agaila can follow up her terrific end to 2022 with victory in the Talksport Winter Oaks Fillies Handicap at Linfield on Saturday. Placed on her three outings during the Summer, she won both her outings on her return from a four month late Summer break, and has looked a fast improving performer in the process. Although given a hefty 11lb rise for her latest win over this course and distance last month, she won with a lot in hand and heads here with plenty of stable confidence after some smart subsequent homework.

Paris Lights - 1.37 Lingfield

Paris Lights can maintain his 100 per-cent record for George Boughey in the Huge Daily Boosts Only BetUK Handicap. The Newmarket trainer has booked Ryan Moore to do the steering on this former Jessica Harrington-trained gelding, who justified short odds with an emphatic win over the John Gosden-trained Lady Loulou over course and distance last month. More is expected of this lightly raced four year old, and he should prove too strong for multiple winner and bang-in-form Dream Harder.

All The King's Men - 2.12 Lingfield

Boughey has also snapped up Moore for three other fancied rides including another foreign import, All The King's Men, in the Spreadex Sports Handicap. He showed some solid form in just ten outings in his native France, and this five year old half brother to group winner, and course winner Goken, looks worth taking a chance on with his rating of 79.

Libra Tiger - 6.30 Wolverhampton

Libra Tiger came late on the scene to grab an expected first win of his career at Kempton 17 days ago, and he is fancied to follow up in the Huge Daily Boosts At Bet UK at Wolverhampton. More is anticipated from this still unexposed type, and he should be ready for this more demanding task.
