Saxon Warrior is to drop in trip for the Juddmonte International at York following his third place finish in Sunday's Dubai Duty Free Irish Derby.
He is currently a 7/1 chance with Sky Bet for the August showpiece.
Aidan O'Brien's QIPCO 2000 Guineas winner was beaten half-a-length and a neck by Latrobe and Rostropovich in the Curragh Classic following his fourth place finish in the Investec Derby at Epsom.
The trainer said: "He's good, not a bother on him. He'll have a little rest now and he'll come back and be trained for the mile and a quarter races at York (Juddmonte International) and Leopardstown. That's the plan."
Ryan Moore believes the decision to switch back to 10 furlongs will play to Saxon Warrior's strengths.
He told At The Races: "I'd have to say it was an improved run on Epsom. He ran very well. Obviously it was disappointing he got beat, but it was a messy sort of a race really.
"It's disappointing he's been beat twice since the Guineas, where he was so good, but I'd like to think he'll be be better when he comes down in trip.
"He's had a couple of tough races, so hopefully we'll get him back to the way he was in the Guineas and get him back on track."
