Jose Mourinho's next club: Inter Milan, Everton & PSG - latest odds on teams to bring in former Manchester United manager

Jose Mourinho says he wants to return to management by June, but where will the next stop be on his eventful and trophy-laden career?

One of his former clubs, Inter Milan, are among the favourites but there are a number of other big names and a few surprising ones - most notably Everton - also among the market leaders.

Mourinho seemed to have fallen behind the likes of Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola and their footballing philosophy, but he's still one of the biggest names in world football and, after saying he's already turned down four jobs, he's surely got his sights on one of Europe's biggest teams.

Let's take a look at the names in the frame to bring in Mourinho...

Inter Milan (Sky Bet odds 4/1)

The Italian side make a lot of sense as Mourinho left on good terms to join Real Madrid and won a famous treble there when bagging the Coppa Italia, Serie A and Champions League so he'd be a popular choice to return and replace Luciano Spalletti, who has his team in third in the league but miles behind Juventus.

Juve, in fact, are on course for a ninth league title, winning every single one since Inter last won it so the Nerazzuri are desperate to try and break the Old Lady's strangle hold on Italian football - and what better way to do it then to bring Mourinho back to repeat the job he did last time.

Everton - 5/1

A surprise name on the list you'd think, as the Premier League doesn't seem to be the place for Jose anymore, but could billionaire owner Farhad Moshiri really push the boat out to try and take his team to the next level?

The cash seemingly seems to be there, and the team is still hoping to move into a new stadium on the banks of the Mersey so what better manager to take them there than Mourinho? The money is the big sticking point here though, Mourinho has not been known for being an underdog since his Porto days in Europe so right now this one seems a bit far fetched.

Monaco - 8/1

Thierry Henry couldn't make it work in the Principality and it's hard to see Mourinho making a go of things at a club not blessed with the biggest ground or fan base in the world and one which has become a team of developing young players and selling them on over recent years.

That just doesn't sound like Mourinho, does it?

Paris Saint Germain - 8/1

Despite not being the favourites to sign him as yet, Mourinho looks like the perfect man for the job on paper, given that the wealthy owners of PSG are desperate to make a splash on the Champions League after hitting a class ceiling with Unai Emery, and seemingly Thomas Tuchel, where they've been knocked out in the last 16 the last three years running.

They've got star-studded names like Neymar and Mbappe than mean they can boss the French league with ease, but the Champions League is big one, and Mourinho knows exactly how to set a side up to win that. A dominant domestic champion, with bottomless pockets, desperate for European glory, sounds right up Mourinho's street.

Winning a league title in a fifth different country would also enhance Mourinho's legacy, and we all know how keen he is on his own history-making achievements.

Bayern Munich - 9/1

Signs that this European giant is ailing slightly this season with their big names getting on a bit and Dortmund giving them all they can handle in the Bundesliga title race, Bayern could do with at least a bit of a revamp and manager Niko Kovac has not been a huge hit even with those inside his own club.

Again with Mourinho, he'd want assurances of a hefty transfer budget, but as with PSG it would give him the chance to win a league title in an incredible fifth different country. You can also only imagine the look on Mourinho's face if he were to lift the Champions League with Bayern - something a certain Pep Guardiola couldn't during his spell in charge.

Others in the betting:

  • 9/1 Benfica
  • 10/1 Real Madrid
  • 12/1 Chelsea
  • 14/1 Juventus
  • 14/1 Wolves
