The winners of the Sky Bet EFL Goal of the Month Awards for September have been revealed, with Aston Villa, Sunderland and Bury the big winners. Watch all the goals and the player interviews below.
Villa's John McGinn's volley from outside of the box against Sheffield Wednesday didn't just stun the owls, but seeming most Championship watchers, as it received 54 percent of the public vote.
McGinn beat off competition from Preston’s Alan Browne and Sheffield Wednesday’s Adam Reach.
Chris Maguire won 56 percent of the vote in the League One contest, as he struck from 25 yards out at Burton on September 15.
His pearler helped him see off fellow contenders, Peterborough’s Ivan Toney and Rochdale’s Aaron Wilbraham.
The Sky Bet League Two September Goal of the Month went to Bury midfielder Danny Mayor. Left unmarked on the halfway line, Mayor turned in possession, drove two Grimsby defenders back before checking back inside to whip home an unstoppable 20-yarder.
Stevenage’s Ben Kennedy and Morecambe’s Liam Mandeville has also been up for the award.
