You may not have noticed what happened on the final day of the season in Poland's second tier this weekend - but to say it was dramatic is a great understatement.
Bytovia Bytow needed to win away at fellow relegation candidates GKS Katowice and hope Wigry Suwalki, who were level on points with a better goal difference, failed to do the same in their trip to Rakow Czestochowa.
Both matches were level at 1-1 deep into stoppage time before Bytovia Bytow's goalkeeper Andrzej Witan popped up with the most dramatic of winning goals to not only send GKS Katowice down but keep his side up...or so everyone thought!
The crazy celebrations were cut short when news of the ultimate party pooping goal from Wigry Suwalki super sub Daniel Smuga filtered from the other match.
So to summarise, Witan's goal effectively only served to relegate Katowice on goal difference as well as his own side!
Polish side Bytovia Bytow HAD to win on final day to have any chance of staying up 🙏
