Jordan Pickford is likely to start England's Euro 2020 qualifier with Czech Republic on Friday, but is his position as number one under threat?
The goalkeeper's heroics between the sticks at the World Cup, including a starring role in the penalty shootout win over Colombia, seems a distant memory now after a number of errors for Everton this season.
Pickford's decision-making has let him down at times, with his errors leading to four goals (seven shots in total) this term - more than any other player in the Premier League.
Whether it is his late howler in the Merseyside derby or his part in Everton losing a two-goal lead at Newcastle, Pickford has had his share of nightmare moments in 2018/19, just a season after winning a number of awards in his first campaign at Goodison Park.
Pickford's qualities of course remain, but his position has come under scrutiny and it begs the question - if not him, then who? Here are six alternatives:
- Tom Heaton (Burnley)
- Jack Butland (Stoke)
- Angus Gunn (Southampton)
- Alex McCarthy (Southampton)
- Nick Pope (Burnley)
- Joe Hart (Burnley)
