Southampton v Brighton (2000 BST, Sky Sports Premier League)

Monday Night Football is a battle between two sides on the south coast as Southampton welcome Brighton to St. Mary's.

The Saints are slight odds-against favourites in this one, but Brighton provide decent value despite losing both of their away games this season.

Albion have beaten Manchester United 3-2, and were narrowly beaten by a high-scoring Liverpool side 1-0. They also were 2-0 down to Fulham before battling back in the second-half to pick up a point in a 2-2 draw.

Chris Hughton's men have had plenty of positives to take from their performances and results before the international break.

Southampton themselves have the single victory this season, with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace last time out granting them their first maximum points.

The Seagulls aren't a high-scoring side, in fact they are one of the Premier League's lowest shot-takers, but they have scored from 40% of the shots they've taken.

This does have the feel of a game that could go either way, which is why Brighton look to be overpriced here.

I'd be willing to put faith in an away win around the 3/1 mark. Both sides have struggled for wins so far, but Albion may have enough to see off the Saints.

Betting guide

Score prediction: Southampton 0-1 Brighton (Sky Bet odds: 17/2)

Best bet: Pascal Gross to score anytime at 9/2

He changed between central midfield, attacking midfield and striker roles last season, but Pascal Gross has found himself lining up alongside Glenn Murray for the majority of this season. He has one on his tally already this season, netting in that 3-2 win over Jose Mourinho's United and looks a tad overpriced at 9/2 to strike here given the position he is playing.

Best bet: Anthony Knockaert to provide an assist at 8/1

Knockaert is a real presence down Brighton's right-hand side, and has proven to be an influential player going forward. He leads Albion in assists this season with two so far and his role on set-pieces could see him lend a helping hand again here. The best price of 8/1 looks great value given the impact he has made already this season.

RequestABet: Gross to score, under 2.5 goals and 8+ match corners at 10/1

This fits the bill for a lot of what we've previewed above. Gross is capable of finding the net in what should be a low-scoring affair. Eight or more corners isn't too much to ask for which returns a decent looking 10/1 RequestABet.

Odds correct at 2140 BST (15/09/18)
