Free football betting tips and odds: Sky Bet EFL preview

Saturday's Sky Bet EFL tips are now available after Nick Hext waited patiently to get more of an idea about the damage caused by Storm Emma.

Saturday evening's TV game

Wolves to beat Reading and both teams to score, Sky Bet Championship (Saturday, 1730 GMT, Sky Sports Football)

Sky Bet Championship leaders Wolves have been stuttering on a three-match run without a victory and a longer stretch of just three wins in their last 10 games. Nuno's side are still well on track for promotion, they sit 10 points ahead of third-placed Aston Villa before the weekend's matches, but it's proving more difficult to get over the line than it appeared at the start of 2018. Reading though would love to be in Wolves' position. The Royals have won just twice in their previous 17 outings and manager Jaap Stam finds his position the subject of much speculation. I don't see Reading springing a surprise in front of the Sky Sports cameras on Saturday evening but I am going for them to find the back of the net when falling to defeat. Wolves haven't kept a clean sheet in their last four games and Reading have found of the back of the net in their previous four winless matches. That all leads me to go with Wolves to win and both teams to score.

Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet Championship selection

Fulham to beat Derby, Sky Bet Championship (Saturday, 1500 GMT)

Six Sky Bet Championship matches with 1500 GMT kick-offs remain on the coupon at the time of writing. The pick of those games is Derby hosting Fulham in a clash between two clubs residing in the play-offs. I like visiting Fulham as the slight outsiders at 7/4 for the win. The Cottagers made a serious statement with last weekend's 2-0 victory at home to Wolves and they are impressing on an eight-match unbeaten stretch. That run has included wins at Middlesbrough and Barnsley just as Derby have started to stutter. The Rams have only won once in their previous seven games to sit adrift of the automatic promotion places and all the momentum is with Fulham at Pride Park.

Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League One selection

Bristol Rovers to beat MK Dons by one goal, Sky Bet League One (Saturday, 1500 GMT)

MK Dons' clash against Bristol Rovers is the most likely match to go ahead in Sky Bet League One on Saturday afternoon. The Dons desperately need victory as they sit six points adrift of safety in the relegation zone. Dan Micciche's side are without a win in their last nine games and time is starting to run out to avoid a surprise drop to League Two. Bristol Rovers are clear of trouble just inside the top half and they make appeal at a decent price for the win. All of the Dons' previous six defeats have been by just one goal so get with Rovers to enjoy success by the narrowest of margins.

Saturday afternoon's Sky Bet League Two selection

Coventry to draw with Lincoln, Sky Bet League Two (Saturday, 1500 GMT)

Three matches remain in Sky Bet League Two at the time of writing and I'm most confident that fans will get to enjoy the clash between Coventry and Lincoln at the Ricoh Arena. This is an interesting contest between two sides sitting just outside the play-off places with promotion aspirations still realistic. Coventry lost to Accrington in their last home game but they won seven games on the spin at the Ricoh Arena prior to that defeat so there's no reason to panic. Lincoln have lost back-to-back matches but they are also in decent shape overall with a nine-match unbeaten run prior to those couple of losses. A draw wouldn't be a bad return for either side and there really isn't much to choose between the Sky Blues and Imps.

Recommended bet
