Sunday February 25

Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur

Team news

Crystal Palace are without 12 injured senior players for Sunday's visit of Tottenham.

A groin injury suffered by Yohan Cabaye made him the most recent to be ruled out.

Julian Speroni, Joel Ward, Martin Kelly, Scott Dann, Mamadou Sakho, Jeffrey Schlupp, Jason Puncheon, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Wilfried Zaha, Bakary Sako and Connor Wickham are all again expected to be absent.

Tottenham are likely to leave Toby Alderweireld out of their squad.

The Belgium defender has been struggling with a hamstring problem over recent months and failed to complete training on Thursday after feeling discomfort in the same area.

Lucas Moura's fitness will also be monitored after he started his first game of the season against Rochdale last weekend.

  • Crystal Palace have lost their last five Premier League games against Tottenham Hotspur, scoring just one goal in the process. However, the Eagles did win an FA Cup fifth round match against the Lilywhites in February 2016.
  • Spurs will be looking to win three consecutive away league games against Crystal Palace for the first time in their history.
  • Crystal Palace have kept just one clean sheet in their last 27 Premier League London derbies.
  • Indeed, only Fulham (0.91) have won fewer points per game in Premier League London derbies than Crystal Palace (0.92).
  • Spurs have won more points in 2018 than any other Premier League side (15 – P7 W4 D3 L0) and are the only side yet to lose so far this year.
  • Palace have scored five Premier League penalties this season, with no side scoring more (level with Everton and Man City); Spurs are one of three sides (also Leicester and Man City) yet to concede from the spot.
  • Indeed, the Eagles’ last two Premier League goals have been penalties scored by Luka Milivojevic – since his debut last February, the Serbian has scored more Premier League penalties than any other player and more than all but one of the 16 other teams to compete in both seasons (Man City also seven).
  • Harry Kane has scored 19 goals in his last 14 Premier League games on the road, scoring three hat-tricks in this run (vs Leicester, Hull and Burnley).
  • Kane has had a hand in three goals in three previous Premier League appearances at Selhurst Park (two goals, one assist).
  • Kane has scored 13 goals in his last 12 Premier League appearances in the month of February, scoring in both matches this month.

Manchester United v Chelsea

Team news

Ander Herrera is out of Manchester United's Premier League clash against Chelsea and the next few weeks.

The Spain midfielder's attempted backheel at Sevilla in the Champions League aggravated a muscular injury, meaning Paul Pogba could return to the starting line-up.

Marouane Fellaini, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo and Phil Jones remain absent, while Eric Bailly is in line to make his first United start since November.

Chelsea will continue to be without injured trio David Luiz, Ross Barkley and Tiemoue Bakayoko.

Defender Luiz is out with an ankle issue, while Barkley has a hamstring problem and fellow midfielder Bakayoko has an unspecified knock.

Strikers Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud are pushing for starts after Blues manager Antonio Conte opted to play Eden Hazard as a false nine in the midweek Champions League draw with Barcelona.

Teams

Manchester United (from): De Gea, Romero, Pereira, Valencia, Darmian, Shaw, Young, Lindelof, Smalling, Bailly, Matic, Carrick, Pogba, McTominay, Gomes, Mata, Lingard, Sanchez, Rashford, Martial, Lukaku.

Chelsea (from): Courtois, Caballero, Eduardo, Cahill, Christensen, Rudiger, Azpilicueta, Alonso, Moses, Zappacosta, Palmieri, Ampadu, Fabregas, Drinkwater, Kante, Hudson-Odoi, Sterling, Hazard, Pedro, Willian, Giroud, Morata.

Opta statistics

  • Manchester United have won just one of their last 14 matches in all competitions against Chelsea (D5 L8) – winning this exact fixture last season in the Premier League (2-0).
  • Chelsea will be looking to do the league double over Man Utd for the fourth time in the Premier League and first time since 2009-10 under Carlo Ancelotti (also 2004-05 under Jose Mourinho and 1993-94 under Glenn Hoddle).
  • Only Liverpool (4) have done the league double over Man Utd more times in Premier League history than Chelsea (3 – level with Man City and Arsenal).
  • Manchester United have lost more Premier League games (18) and conceded more Premier League goals (67) against Chelsea than they have against any other side in the competition.
  • Antonio Conte has won three of his four meetings in all competitions as Chelsea manager against Jose Mourinho (W3 L1) - twice in the Premier League and once in the FA Cup.
  • Jose Mourinho has seen his Man Utd side score more than once in just one of their seven home Premier League games against fellow ‘big six’ teams, although it came last season versus Chelsea (W3 D2 L2).
  • Jose Mourinho has lost only two of his 32 Premier League matches at Old Trafford as Manchester United manager (W18 D12), with both defeats coming at the hands of rivals Man City. Indeed, Mourinho’s (2.06) points per game ratio at Old Trafford for Man Utd is worse than both Louis van Gaal (2.24) and Alex Ferguson (2.42).
  • Mourinho has lost three matches in all competitions against Chelsea as Man Utd manager, more than against any other opponent.
  • Eden Hazard has found the net with each of his last three shots from open play – he had scored with three of his previous 31 open play efforts.
  • Romelu Lukaku has failed to score in any of his six Premier League matches against the ‘big six’ this season, attempting just four shots on target in those games.
  • Against West Brom, Chelsea named their ninth Premier League starting XI this season without a British player – they are the only side to have done so in the top-flight this season. The Blues had only named a non-British starting XI three times in 962 Premier League games before this season (twice in December 1999, once in April 2016).
