Last team standing after an epic slugfest with Liverpool saw them win back-to-back titles thanks to a jaw-dropping 14 wins on the bounce. Add character to the skill, pace and fluidity already flowing through this team and they'll again be the ones to beat, and if Liverpool can't replicate their heroics they'll run away with a third straight title.

2019/20 objectives - Taste European glory

Much like Theresa May, Pep Guardiola's time at Man City will be defined by how he handles Europe - as even if they continue their domestic dominance there'll always be that nagging space in the trophy cabinet. City fans may not get on with the Champions League, but the club's owners and their manger crave it - Guardiola is a coach of a lifetime, but questions will always be asked if he fails to conquer Europe without Lionel Messi. And don't for one second think he doesn't know that.

City have more than enough star players to challenge for both the Premier League and Champions League, but there was a definite slowing down late last term as they scrapped for every one of those last few wins, so maybe the domestic cups should take a back seat next term?

Remains to be seen if they miss Vincent Kompany's leadership but there are enough big names in that dressing room now to take up the mantle. Summer transfers have again been excellent, with Rodri looking like a ready-made replacement for Fernandinho and Joao Cancelo adding even more quality at full-back.

Star Man - Kevin De Bruyne

They won the treble with the Belgian missing a host of games through injury, but he's just class personified and any extra games they get from him next season will be a boost. If he's at his best and plays a full season then City may well get over that 100-point mark again.

Passing, shooting, vision, De Bruyne has the lot, with either foot, and he's one of few players that can produces passes, through-balls and long-range low crosses that other players couldn't even see, let alone execute.

We've run out of superlatives for Guardiola after he guided his side to successive titles, especially with THAT finish of 14 straight wins. At one stage he looked close to conceding the title but they way he got his side revved up for that pivotal win over Liverpool just illustrated his pure passion is as much a part of him as his tactical nous.

Europe remains the one blot in his copybook and he'll have a burning desire to put that right this season, but he may have to sacrifice the domestic cups to achieve that particular goal. He never stops coaching, whether it's 1-0 or 7-0 he's always draining every last drop out of his teams, and he's well on the way to being a world great.
