PREMIER LEAGUE
Liverpool back to winning ways puts them on 57 points, seven clear of Manchester City, who are yet to play this weekend.
Watford are up to seventh on 32 points, above Leicester City, who lost again today.
Huddersfield Town are still bottom and eight from safety, after drawing at Cardiff, who are a point and place above the drop zone now. Newcastle still to play tonight, are now in the bottom three, as Southampton's win takes them out of it.
Leeds United are four points clear at the top and of third place after their win over Derby last night. Sheffield United are up to second after their 1-0 over QPR. A 1-1 draw wasn't ideal for WBA or Norwich, but it puts WBA fourth on 47 points and Norwich third on 50.
Gomez's first win as Reading boss moves them to 23 points, two now from safety. A rare Ipwich win puts them to 18 points, seven away from Rotherham, who are fourth bottom after losing to the Tractor Boys.
Our Premier League expert Paul Higham is going for the following for the 5.30 kick off
Newcastle usually keep games tight and I quite fancy a Chelsea clean sheet but there's just enough of a nagging doubt about their defence to play it safe a bit here and throw in an away goal.

Our EFL Expert Tom Carduff tipped Scunthorpe to beat Walsall at 23/10. Another great one Tom - Well Done
Oh, so, so, so close to a 30/1 ACCA coming in. Just Preston's 1-1 draw stopped us from glory. Hey ho, onwards and upwards.
How well did your predictions do today?
Brighton 0-1 Liverpool
Burnley 2-1 Fulham
Cardiff 0-0 Huddersfield
Crystal Palace 1-2 Watford
Leicester 1-2 Southampton
Wigan 3-0 Aston Villa
Brighton 0-1 Liverpool
Burnley 2-1 Fulham
Cardiff 0-0 Huddersfield
Crystal Palace 1-2 Watford
Leicester 1-2 Southampton
Birmingham 1-2 Middlesbrough
Brentford 3-1 Stoke
Bristol City 2-1 Bolton
Hull 3-0 Sheffield Wednesday
Ipswich 1-0 Rotherham
Preston 1-1 Swansea
Reading 2-0 Forest
Sheffield United 1-0 QPR
West Brom 1-1Norwich
Wigan 3-0 Aston Villa
Swindon 2-2 Lincoln
The hosts level up in injury time against the nine men. We advised a 2-2 result at 13/8
Bury from 3-1 down to 4-3 up - Now we just need 10 men Preston to find a winner and we are in at 30/1 - PLEASE!!!!
Reading 2-0 Forest
We just advised you to take Reading to score a second - please tell us you took it!
We tipped Che Adams to score anytime in Birmingham v Middlesbrough at 5/2 and that's happened - well done Tom Carduff
We've seen Lincoln go down to nine men, and now Nottingham Forest are too at Reading.
No manager, and now nine players, and losing to a side in the Sky Bet relegation zone - bad to worse
Birmingham 1-2 Middlesbrough
Adams equalises for the home side, but straight away the visitors retake the lead through Assombalonga.
Wigan 3-0 Aston Villa
WBA 1-1 Norwich
Rhodes levels it for Norwich.
Leicester are pushing for an equaliser against the 10 men of Southampton.
They are up to 69% possession, 7 shots on target and 5 against.
To score the next goal they are now 15/8 and the 2-2 draw has been Price Boosted by Sky Bet to 3-1
With West Brom beating Norwich at the Hawthorns, the Canaries will drop out of the top two with Sheff United taking their place.
Leeds’ lead at the top would be by four points.
1. Leeds – 54 pts
2. Sheff United – 50 pts
3. West Brom – 49 pts
4. Norwich – 49 pts
Wigan 2-0 Aston Villa
Bury have levelled - amazing, if they can get a fourth and Preston get a winner then we are in - COME ON!!!
Huddersfield are awarded a penalty at Cardiff by the ref. But then the assistant steps in and says no penalty and the decision is reversed.
Palace 1-2 Watford - Cleverley
And as we say that, it happens as Cleverley scores. We advised a 2-1 Watford win at half time, did you back it?
Palace's Zaha is having a stormer and he's latest run puts McArthur in for a tap in, but somehow he let's it go through his legs and misses it - terrible
But then Watford go down the other end and have a shot cleared off the line.
There seems another goal in this game, but which way?
Bury letting us down badly in this one, with two of our selected teams winning
Palace 1-1 Watford - Cathcart
After scoring the own goal, Cathcart's now scored at the right end
Bristol City 2-1 Bolton
Palmer, on as a sub, scores on his debut to turn this game around. All three goals came in eight minutes. Also means another team leading in our ACCA!
Sunderland 1-1 Luton
But Luton are now down to 10 men here, with Hylton sent off

Bristol City 1-1 Bolton
Dam it, we were just getting the odds of a Bristol City equaliser, as Bolton never hold leads, and City have beaten us to it
Bristol City 0-1 Bolton
Magennis scores for the visitors
Preston 1-1 Swansea
Not often you see this, Sky Bet League Two Leaders Lincoln City are down to 9 men at Swindon!
Andrade went after 34 minutes; and now Shackell has seen a second yellow on 55.
The imps do lead 2-1, but with two men advantage Swindon will fancy their chances of getting fully back into this one.
Leicester 1-2 Southampton - Ndidi
The Foxes have one back against the 10 men.
Brentford 3-1 Stoke
Brentford's return to form continues
Jarrod Bowen has scored both goals as Hull lead Sheffield Wednesday 2-0, That's a day after being named Sky Bet Championship Player of the Month for December. This is why...
Sky Bet have Price Boosted Liverpool to win 2-0 to 5/2
Salah to score a brace is 11/4
Fulham are really struggling in this game now and Burnley are looking more likely to get another goal. The hosts are 13/8 to get the fourth goal of the game
Our in play betting advice pre-match recommended Salah to score first at 11/4 or 5/6 to score any time. and that penalty gets that money in. That's three goals in four games against Brighton.
Brighton 0-1 Liverpool - Salah Pen
And as we say that Liverpool get a penalty and Salah scores it - just - as the keeper gets a hand to it. Our in
Liverpool have had 68% possession at the AMEX but it's taken until the first minute of the second half to see a shot on target and it's gone to Liverpool
Tom Carduff at Sheffield United 1-0 QPR:
"It'll be interesting to see what QPR do in this one now. They may have been happy to slow the game down, but they do possess an attacking threat and have had opportunities in the first-half. There is a potential for more goals here, and over 2.5 is worth a consideration at a current price of 11/10"
44: Palace sub - Vicente Guaita is unable to continue and is replaced by Wayne Hennessey.
— Crystal Palace F.C. (@CPFC) January 12, 2019
[1-0] #CRYWAT
Crystal Palace have won three of their five Premier League games this season with Vicente Guaita in goal, conceding 0.6 goals per game. They won just three of their 16 games with Wayne Hennessey in goal this term, shipping 1.4 goals per game.

Brighton 0-0 Liverpool
Burnley 2-1 Fulham

Crystal Palace 1-0 Watford
Leicester 0-2 Southampton (down to 10 men)
Birmingham 0-1 Middlesbrough
Brentford 2-1 Stoke

Ipswich 1-0 Rotherham
Preston 0-0 Swansea
Reading 1-0 Forest
Sheffield United 1-0 QPR
West Brom 1-0 Norwich
Wigan 1-0 Aston Villa
Leicester 0-2 Southampton - Long
Rollercoaster few minutes for the Saints, down to 10 men, but straight away they score a second. Great run from Long and he fires it at goal, it might have been going wide, but deflected in by Kasper in goal.
Southampton lead at Leicester but they are now down to 10 men, Valery receives a second yellow card
Maybe not at the King Power Stadium, look at this....
Wigan 1-0 Aston Villa
This is a Super 6 game, so how does that affect you as Roberts puts the hosts ahead?
Our EFL Reporter Tom Carduff at Bramall Lane says:
Sheffield United take the lead. David McGoldrick beats the goalkeeper with a header from close range. QPR haven't been in a rush today and have come with the intention of been a bit disruptive, trying to get the crowd frustrated. It worked a bit, but they'll have to change their ideas now they are behind.
Palace 1-0 Watford - Cathcart
Another Premier League own goal - that's three today already - gives Palace a lead. Goal line technology was needed to sort this one out
Sheffield United 1-0 QPR
Birmingham City 0-1 Middlesbrough
One out of four winning so far...
Walsall 0-1 Scunthorpe
Bristol City 0-0 Bolton
Bury 1-2 MK Dons
Preston 0-0 Swansea
Thrilling came at Turf Moor, and another good chance for Fulham to level it up. Neither side are able to defend as Ryan Sessegnon has a free header but blazes it over.
In Cardiff, the home keeper Etheridge makes a fine from Mounie and from the resulting corner Kachunga heads over for Huddersfield.
And at the King Power, Leicester have a goal disallowed.
Ipswich 1-0 Rotherham
A relegation battle in the Sky Bet Championship and Paul Lambert's side, boosted by new signings like James Collins, are leading.
Barnsley 1-0 Bradford
The Oakwell side lead this Yorkshire derby
In the relegation six pointer Huddersfield are dominating Cardiff with 65% possession, but we've only had one shot so far from either side.
Tom Carduff is at Sheffield United v QPR today...

Here's what Manuel Pellegrini told Sky Sports when asked about Marko Arnautovic's future.
"We'll see what happens in the next days. We'll see what's best for the player, the club, for everyone."
Burnley 2-1 Fulham - Odoi OG
Would you believe it, Fulham score two own goals in a minute. Seriously, when your defence is as bad as Fulham's surely you don't need to help the opposition further by scoring their goals for them too!
Reading 1-0 Nottingham Forest
Managerless Forest's bad week continues, with Reading leading as they try to give their new boss Gomez a first win.
Brentford 2-1 Stoke
Afobe scores the first goal of Nathan Jones' reign to get Stoke back into this one
Burnley 1-1 Fulham - Bryan OG
Burnley needed that and are back in it. Fulham just cannot keep a clean sheet
Brentford 2-0 Stoke
Not a great start for Nathan Jones as the new Stoke manager. We discussed in the Sporting Life office that Stoke's problems were bigger than just who the manager was, and that seems to be proved true with this score line
Sunderland 1-0 Luton - MaGuire
What a battle between two sides chasing automatic promotion from Sky Bet League One. Luton, of course, starting life without Nathan Jones, who left this week for Stoke, and it's not going well.
It is now 34 consecutive games that Sunderland have scored in - amazing
WBA 1-0 Norwich - Gayle
The first shot on target of this game goes in, as Gayle smashes home.
Walsall 0-1 Scunthorpe
A good start for the Sporting Life Acca, with Scunthorpe leading in Sky Bet League One
Leicester 0-1 Southampton - Ward-Prowse pen
A clumsy foul by Mendy gives Ward-Prowse the chance to open the scoring and despite Schmeichel getting a hand on it, he scores.
Brentford 0-1 Stoke
Jason Puncheon is making his Premier League debut for Huddersfield Town and he's just fired a shot past the post.
Meanwhile Town's Schindler, just returning from a ban, has been yellow carded already.
Huddersfield have had players sent off in their last two matches at Cardiff City and a red card in this game is 3/1 - worth a punt I feel
Really big game in the Sky Bet Championship at WBA host Norwich, with both fighting for an automatic promotion place. A good start from both sides here, but it's the hosts dominating the early possession.
It's an incredible start at Selhurst Park too as Watford hit the same post twice in five seconds. Deulofeu should score from 12 yards, but his shot hits the post, it falls to Pereyra for a simple tap in and somehow he puts it against the same post
Burnley 0-1 Fulham - Schurrle
It's a wonderful start for Fulham at Burnley and it's a wonder goal from the German. An amazing strike and one to tune into Match of the Day for
So here we go - kick off! Good luck to you and your team over the next few hours.

A few things to consider here. Leicester have a decent home record against Southampton, not losing in their last five to the Saints. However the Foxes have lost two of their last three games at the King Power and have earned just 14 points at home. Southampton have earned four points from their last two league away days.
So Southampton to spring a surprise away win is 7/2; with Leicester to claim victory at 17/20.
Also something to consider later depending how the day goes…
Leicester have won 12 points from losing positions this season – the joint highest in the Premier League, Southampton have lost 15 points from winning positions – more than any other side
A potential concern for Liverpool in the warm-ups as Trent Alexander-Arnold may have suffered a slight injury.
He stretched for a ball, stayed down and then looked a bit uncomfortable as he twisted and tried to shake it off while speaking to Jurgen Klopp.
No news of a change yet, but James Milner is staying out and warming up while the rest of the team have gone in.
Have we seen the last game in England for West Ham's Marko Arnautovic?
This is what his boss Manuel Pellegrini has had to say following their win over Arsenal, where the striker was subbed off in the second half.
"We will see what happens in the coming days..." 👀

We go into Sky Bet League Two for our final pre match tip from Tom Carduff...
After months of poor performances and results, Scunthorpe look like a team on the up at the moment with Stuart McCall's side stringing together three consecutive wins.
The fact that their last two wins came against play-off hopefuls Peterborough and Coventry makes it look even more impressive, and they are well-equipped to grab another victory here.
They take on a Walsall side who are out of form at the moment. They are winless in their last six and have won just one of their last six games at home.
Everything points towards a team who are making their way back up the table, with the right man at the helm bringing in his own signings. At a price of 23/10, it is more than worth a small stake on a Scunthorpe win.
A big day ahead in the Premier League and Sky Bet have the following Soccer Saturday Price Boost Specials:
Liverpool, Leicester and Burnley all to win is NOW 7/1
Liverpool, Leicester and Fulham all to win is NOW 12/1
A final Premier league outright tip from George Pitts ahead of today's 3pm kick offs
Callum Paterson to score anytime against Huddersfield at 13/5
Backing the hosts to score twice was initially the best bet before seeing the price available on Scottish forward Callum Paterson to score anytime.
The 24-year-old is four games without a goal but the Bluebirds man averages nearly two shots per game and can return to scoring form against a relegation rival.
He is likely to lead the line and is Cardiff's danger man in opposition boxes, so nearly 3/1 looks a tad overpriced and too good to turn down.

*Odds correct at time of publication
West Ham are the first winners of the day, as Delan Rice became only the 10th teenager to score a Premier League goal for West Ham, and the first since Junior Stanislas in November 2009.
"We've been on at him all the time in training all the time, he keeps missing!" 😂

Mark Noble has praised Declan Rice after today's match-winning goal, explaining how the player is a favourite within the squad and amongst the fans. ⬆ pic.twitter.com/5upIE1yJ0D
Wilfried Zaha is such a key play for Crystal Palace, so you might not believe this stat, but he has failed to score or provide an assist in his last 12 league appearances! So potentially it is worth avoiding him today.
What might be worth looking at is Jordan Ayew, as he’s 9/4 to score any time in this one and he's scored in three of his four starts against Watford.
On the other side, Troy Deeney is vying to score in three successive Premier League away matches for just the second time in his career. He’s 17/2 with Sky Bet to score first today and 5/2 anytime.
Leicester City are looking to bounce back from their shock and humiliating FA Cup exit to Sky Bet League Two club Newport County, while Southampton threw away a 2-0 lead to draw 2-2 with Derby. So neither are in great mood going into this one.
Another EFL tip from Tom Carduff...
The tie of the weekend comes at the Hawthorns as West Brom welcome title rivals Norwich and this game does have the potential for goals. These two sides are in the top-three for goals scored this season, while their 34 goals conceded is the highest out of any of the other sides in the top-eight.
One player to keep an eye on in this game is City’s Onel Hernandez. The winger has been in great form in recent weeks - scoring two and contributing a further three assists in his last five league games.
With Marco Stiepermann missing this game through injury, Hernandez will enjoy more minutes on the pitch and should have opportunities to find the net.
Given that recent form, the value is there in taking the 15/4 with Betway for a goal anytime in this contest.
The Baggies have only managed to keep two clean sheets in their league home games this season, those coming against teams struggling at the other end of the table.
It's difficult to keep out Norwich at the moment, which is why it's worth looking for goalscorers.

Chris Wood starts again for Burnley against a leaky Fulham side.
Wood has scored in his last three games in league and cup, including back-to-back Premier League strikes
He is 2/1 to score anytime; 10/1 to score two or more; and 11/2 to open the scoring.
Talking of the Sky Bet Championship, take a listen to our latest podcast as we discuss all the big news and latest results from the second tier of English football, as we are joined by former Leeds, Derby, Coventry and Middlesbrough striker Noel Whelan.
Our EFL expert Tom Carduff has been casting his eye over today's fixtures and is going for the following tips.....
Middlesbrough come into this one with issues in defence as Aden Flint, Daniel Ayala and Ryan Shotton could all be missing from Tony Pulis' starting line-up.
The Blues have a strong home record this season and have lost just one of their 13 league games in front of their own supporters.
They have little issue in finding the net here, and you'd back them to score at least one given that situation at the back for the visitors.
Che Adams is one player enjoying life at St. Andrews currently. The forward has 12 goals and four assists in 26 Championship games this season, including three in his last five.
Odds of 5/2 look generous on Adams adding to his tally in a game such as this. Middlesbrough, a side who pride themselves on defence, will be significantly weaker if all three fail to feature.
Adams has the ability to capitalise, in a game where Birmingham will fancy victory.
West Ham 1-0 Arsenal
Rice's second half goal delivers any early 20th birthday present for himself and in turn gives the Hammers just their second win in 22 games against Arsenal.
The Gunners miss the chance to close in on the top four, while West Ham move to 31 points, level with seventh placed Leicester
We know how good Mohamed Salah is and he likes to show that against Brighton. He has scored twice and assisted twice in his three Premier League appearances against the Seagulls.
He is 11/4 to get the opening goal today, and 5/6 to score any time.
Time for another one of George Pitts' tips for the day
Brighton are now unbeaten in four matches in all competitions but a tough match against leaders Liverpool beckons and avoiding defeat will be an incredibly tough task for the Seagulls.
Jurgen Klopp will be looking for a reaction after back-to-back defeats for his side - first in the Premier League against Man City and then in the FA Cup at Wolves. A win is a lot to ask for Brighton, but getting on the score sheet is not out of question.
Brighton are strong at the Amex this season, have scored against Man United (and won), Arsenal and Chelsea. Liverpool have a bit of a defensive crisis at the minute - with Fabinho having to slot in at the back in place of the injured Dejan Lovren and Joe Gomez, so the Seagulls could look to explore this weakness.
No spying here, we officially got a press pass for Sheffield United against QPR and our EFL expert Tom Carduff is there for us. He'll keep us updated with all the news and game development at Bramall Lane....
Billy Sharp is the cover star on the programme today – the Blades honouring him for hitting the 220 goal mark and becoming the highest England league scorer this century. Unsurprisingly, the majority of Chris Wilder’s column is on the signing of Gary Madine. He is “delighted that we’ve been able to bring in a forward who has won promotion for the past two seasons.”
Sharp starts, while Wilder has named Madine on the bench for this one alongside another new signing in Kieran Dowell. Those two new faces will give United a real impact should they need it in the latter stages of this one. The return of Chris Basham is also a huge boost and puts them in a great position for victory here.
QPR haven’t chopped and changed massively in recent league games, they haven’t had to in all honesty, and the same applies for today’s clash.
Sheffield United will know that Norwich face that tough test away at West Brom and three points could move them above the Canaries into second. Blades fans around the ground feel confident of a win today and they should see it.
Loftus Road has been important for the R’s up until this point, but their away form sees just one win in their last six.
Obviously Sharp is a short price for a goal here, around the 11/10 mark. So if you’re looking for something a tad bigger then consider Mark Duffy to score anytime. He has four goals and four assists on his tally from attacking midfield, including one in their 3-0 victory over Wigan in their last league encounter.

So this is a tough one to call in London. Watford go into the game seven points ahead of their hosts, but Palace boast a good home record against the Hornets. Add to that, Palace have won three of their last five home matches, while Watford could equal a club top flight record of four consecutive away games unbeaten.

Now here is your classic relegation six pointer with hosts Cardiff a place and two points out of the drop zone, with visitors Huddersfield bottom and eight adrift from safety. It was 0-0 earlier in the season when these sides met in Yorkshire.

🔁 Assist for ex-Arsenal man Samir Nasri
⚽️ First-time finish by the highly-rated Declan Rice, who scores his first goal for the club on his 55th app

Burnley are on the up thanks to back to back league wins, which has earned them more points in two games than the whole of their previous 12! Fulham would love such a little run as they fight to get out of the drop zone.
West Ham 1-0 Arsenal - Rice
Classic old skool Arsenal defending - and by that I mean terrible defending - allows Declan Rice to open the scoring, two days before his 20th Birthday.
Ball into the box, a weak Arsenal header clearance goes straight to former Gunner Nasri in the box, who find Rice to slam home.
George Pitts is with me today and he's providing his trusty Premier League tips as always.
He's been spying on all the teams this week to try and find the best value around. Let's fire the first one in...
One of the division's worst home sides comes up against its worst away side and this one is certainly not expected to be first up in the Match of the Day running order.
Sean Dyche's side have improved but this is by far the best run they have had all season and it is difficult to see it stretching much further. This is a great chance for Fulham to get a first league away win of the season.
We have been waiting a long time for the Cottagers to improve under Claudio Ranieri and they showed glimpses of that with a three-match unbeaten run over the festive period.
Turf Moor is no longer a fortress and at odds above 2/1, Fulham look great value for the win - providing they do not suffer a hangover from their FA Cup defeat to Oldham.
Adding 1.5 total goals into the equation boosts it up to 17/5 - a great price for a side whose three wins this season have been against sides starting the day in the bottom four. The likes of Aleksandar Mitrovic and Andre Schurrle can provide the quality to help Fulham return to London with all three points.
Heading back to the London Stadium, where we've seen a really even game. It's one shot on target apiece, with the hosts having six in total, and the Gunners having four.
Arsenal's Alexandre Lacazette has been the busiest attacker with four attempts so far, one of them on target, and the Frenchman to score the game's first goal is now available at 13/2.

With the focus on the field today, you won't be surprise to hear that no transfer movement has happened as yet on this Saturday.
However there are plenty of rumours and gossips doing the rounds still.
Check out all the latest transfer news and completed deals with our LIVE Transfer Market blog, which is running throughout January.
Let's start looking at the 3pm Premier League games and start with an interesting game at the AMEX.
League leaders Liverpool are looking to avoid losing three straight games for the first time since January 2017, while this is the first time Brighton have played a home game against the current Premier League leaders.
It really was a fascinating match at Elland Road last night, and it provided a pre-match build up you rarely experience.
Rather than the normal "we respect the opposition; it will be a hard game; it's all about what we do on the night" type quotes ahead of kick off, we instead had the Leeds coach Marcelo Bielsa admitting to sending a spy to scout out Derby's training sessions, and Frank Lampard's honest reaction of how appalled he was at it. Catch up on the whole story and watch what was said here.
And watch the game highlights:
A big day ahead in the Premier League and Sky Bet have the following Soccer Saturday Price Boost Specials:

West Ham 0-0 Arsenal
West Ham are hosting Arsenal in the early Premier League kick off and we've yet to have a goal
The Hammers have won just one of their last 21 Premier League matches against Arsenal, while the Gunners are unbeaten in 11 away matches at West Ham in all competitions since November 2006
