Barnsley 2-2 Charlton
Lyle Taylor struck an 89th-minute penalty as Charlton came from behind twice to salvage a point away at Barnsley in a hard-fought 2-2 draw.
Cauley Woodrow had given the hosts the lead with a superb volley before Conor Gallagher's equaliser in the first half.
Conor Chaplin thought he had given his side all three points on his first league start for the club before Taylor's penalty meant the sides had to share a point.
After a scrappy opening half an hour, a touch of brilliance from Woodrow opened the scoring for Barnsley in the 34th minute. As the ball ricocheted on the edge of the area, Woodrow took a touch on the half turn and produced a stunning volley which nestled into the top corner.
But Charlton quickly equalised in the 40th minute when Jonny Williams found Gallagher in the box who managed to get the ball under control and poke the ball past Samuel Radlinger.
The sides went in level at the break, but Barnsley regained the lead shortly after half-time. Chaplin combined brilliantly with Luke Thomas before weaving his way into the box, calmly rounded two Charlton defenders and sent Dillon Phillips the wrong way with a composed finish for his first goal for the Tykes.
The away side kept pushing for the equaliser and were given the chance from the spot after Gallagher was tripped in the box. Taylor stepped up, walked up to the ball in peculiar fashion but confidently stroked the ball into the bottom corner.
The two teams finished level at full time, extending Barnsley's unbeaten home run to 29 games while Charlton are unbeaten in the Championship this season.
Blackburn 1-0 Middlesbrough
Danny Graham's penalty earned Blackburn a 1-0 win over Middlesbrough and their first points of the Sky Bet Championship season.
The former Middlesbrough striker justified his inclusion after making a telling contribution in the Carabao Cup in midweek, and he secured a vital three points with a 25th-minute spot-kick.
In a game lacking in real quality, the hosts did enough against their toothless opponents who seemed short of ideas, despite hitting the post late on through Marcus Browne.
The victory lifts Blackburn off the bottom of the league and above their winless opponents.
Pressure now intensifies on rookie manager Jonathan Woodgate, whose Boro side have yet to taste victory in four games in all competitions this season.
It is also the first time Middlesbrough have failed to win any of their first three league fixtures in 15 years.
Tony Mowbray made four changes from the league defeat at Fulham, with Greg Cunningham making his league debut; Anfernee Dijksteel made his first Championship start for Boro and it was him who needlessly tugged Graham back in the area with very little danger apparent.
And Blackburn's player of last season confidently sent Darren Randolph the wrong way in the 25th minute - the first league goal scored by a Blackburn player this season.
Brentford 1-1 Hull
Brentford and Hull shared the spoils in a stop-start game of two halves that ended 1-1 at Griffin Park.
Jarrod Bowen struck after the break to give the Tigers a lead their first-half dominance deserved, but Ollie Watkins levelled to ensure the points were shared.
Bowen pounced on 53 minutes when the ball dropped for him in space after the hesitant Bees defence twice failed to clear their lines, and he picked his spot from 12 yards.
But Watkins restored parity on 71 minutes when he bundled home Sergi Canos' drilled low cross to set up a nail-biting finale for the visiting City fans.
Bristol City 2-0 QPR
Adam Nagy and Benik Afobe netted their first goals for Bristol City in a 2-0 win over QPR at Ashton Gate, to give the home side their first league win of the season.
The hosts took a 35th-minute lead when Afobe challenged for an aerial ball in the Rangers box and it dropped for Nagy to net with a low right-footed half-volley from a central position 15 yards out.
It was 2-0 after 59 minutes, Rangers goalkeeper Joe Lumley making a hash of an attempted volleyed clearance. The ball dropped to Andreas Weimann inside the box and he hooked it into the path of Afobe, who fired home from 10 yards.
Luton 1-2 West Brom
On-loan West Ham forward Grady Diangana scored a quickfire brace as West Brom ended Luton's lengthy unbeaten home run in the league with a 2-1 victory at Kenilworth Road.
The youngster was introduced by boss Slaven Bilic at the start of the second half with his side trailing 1-0 and netted twice inside six minutes to earn the Baggies a hard-fought victory.
The Hatters took the lead after 15 minutes, Martin Cranie crossing from the right for Harry Cornick to bullet a header beyond Johnstone and into the top corner for his first goal of the season.
After a poor first half, the Baggies were level just three minutes into the second.
Diangana netted with virtually his first touch, arrowing a drive past the sprawling Sluga and into the bottom corner from 25 yards.
He then made it 2-1 after 51 minutes, instinctively diving to head home a deflected shot from close range to stun the home side, who had been well worth their lead from the first period.
Millwall 1-0 Sheffield Wednesday
Ten-man Millwall maintained their unbeaten start to the Sky Bet Championship season and ended Sheffield Wednesday's 100 per cent record in the process with a 1-0 home win.
The only goal of the contest came when an inviting Connor Mahoney corner was nodded in at the back post by Matt Smith.
Things turned sour for the Lions after 43 minutes when Jed Wallace was dismissed for a challenge on Kieran Lee, referee Gavin Ward consulting his assistant Ian Cooper before brandishing the red card.
Despite Wednesday laying siege to the home goal, the Londoners hung on for three points that moves them on to seven for the season.
Both teams will have been buoyed going into this encounter after strong starts to the season.
However, there was little to write home about during the opening exchanges, with neither team possessing the urgency and precision to unlock the opposition.
It was a Mahoney set-piece that led to the breakthrough after 37 minutes. The 22-year-old, signed from Bournemouth in the summer, sent in a pinpoint cross, which Smith emphatically met at the back post.
Nottingham Forest 3-0 Birmingham
Joe Lolley took centre stage as rampant Nottingham Forest battered Birmingham 3-0 at the City Ground.
Lolley scored the first goal with a brilliant free-kick and set up the second for Lewis Grabban, to give Sabri Lamouchi's side a comfortable 2-0 lead at the interval.
In the second half Forest should have scored more goals than the one plundered by skipper Michael Dawson from a corner, as they repeatedly tore open Pep Clotet's side, only to miss a host of chances.
But that was a minor criticism, as the Reds notched up the first league win of Lamouchi's tenure, in hugely impressive fashion.
It was from a set-piece that Forest took the lead in the 15th minute. Ivan Sunjic was booked for a late challenge on Jack Robinson and Lolley delivered further punishment, as he lashed a powerful shot into the bottom corner of the net from the resulting free-kick.
Seven minutes later, keeper Lee Camp was picking the ball out of the back of the net for a second time, as Lolley this time turned provider.
The winger did well to find space on the right, before lifting a delightful lofted cross towards the far post, where Grabban rose to plant a simple header back across goal and inside the far post, with Camp a helpless bystander.
It was Forest who added to their tally in the second half, from a corner, as skipper Dawson arrived purposefully to force a downward header over the line as he attacked Tiago Silva's delivery in the 65th minute.
Stoke 2-2 Derby
Stoke are still waiting for their first Championship win of the season after they were held to an entertaining 2-2 draw by Derby.
It looked like the Potters would get the win they will feel they deserved after they overturned Martyn Waghorn's second minute opener to lead 2-1.
The home side responded superbly to the early setback and levelled on 32 minutes when Liam Lindsay headed home from a corner.
They hit the front eleven minutes into the second half through Scott Hogan's emphatic finish.
But Waghorn bagged his second of a high-tempo game with a 70th minute penalty to leave Stoke waiting for that first win.
Waghorn opened the scoring inside the first 120 seconds after he turned home a Kieran Dowell cross with a first-time finish. But the hosts made the set-piece count when Lindsay levelled with a powerful header from inside the six-yard box.
Stoke then went in front when debutant Hogan smashed home into the roof of the net on 56 minutes to deservedly put the home side ahead.
Tommy Smith and Tom Lawrence both received bookings in the 67th minute for their part in an ugly touchline melee of players following a late tackle by Florian Jozefzoon.
Derby were given an unlikely lifeline after George Evans was brought down in the box two minutes later.
And Waghorn, who missed a penalty in last week's 0-0 draw with Swansea, made no mistake as he slotted home straight down the middle to send Butland the wrong way.
Swansea 3-2 Preston
Borja Baston's brace ensured Swansea came out 3-2 winners over Preston after a thrilling back-and-forth battle at the Liberty Stadium.
The £15million Spanish striker went 1,022 days without a Swansea goal before the start of this season but now has three goals in three league games.
It was his equaliser on the stroke of half-time that gave the hosts a lifeline after Joe Rafferty's early strike put Preston ahead.
George Byers came on at the break and put Swansea ahead before Daniel Johnson levelled from the spot three minutes later. But Borja headed in the winner to cap off a manic six minutes and move his side onto seven points from their first three games.
Alex Neil's men scored early in both of last week's big wins over Wigan and Bradford and they made another fast start in south Wales with a goal after 11 minutes.
Left-back Rafferty pushed forward, took a Swansea half clearance down with his chest and curled a shot past Freddie Woodman and inside the near post from 20 yards out.
But they went in level after Borja scored his second goal of the season completely against the run of play four minutes into stoppage time.
Jay Fulton found the run of Connor Roberts with an inch-perfect pass to the right wing before Borja moved into a yard of space and swept his low cross into the far corner to level it up at half-time.
But it was three goals in six second-half minutes that changed the face of this Sky Bet Championship clash.
Borja missed the chance to net his second of the game from Bersant Celina's driven cross, but the ball fell kindly to Byers, who side-footed it into the corner from the penalty spot.
The lead only lasted three minutes after Roberts crashed into Maguire in the penalty area. Referee Dean Whitestone pointed to the spot and Johnson beat Woodman to his right to level the scores at 2-2.
But Swansea turned to the man they brought back in from the cold to fire them back in front with 69 minutes gone.
Jake Bidwell charged on an overlapping run and received possession from Celina before clipping a delicate ball across the six-yard box for Borja to power a header into the back of the net.
Wigan 0-2 Leeds
Two goals from Patrick Bamford gave Leeds United a comfortable 2-0 Sky Bet Championship victory at Wigan, who played for 70 minutes with 10 men after the dismissal of Joe Williams for two bookable offences.
Bamford opened the scoring in the 34th minute before making the game safe in the second half when he bundled home.
The win sees Leeds top the fledgling table on goal difference, having taken seven points from their opening three games, while Wigan sit in 19th.
Leeds predictably picked up the pace and took the lead on the 34-minute mark.
After former Wigan man Adam Forshaw somehow headed against the post from six yards, the rebound fell to Bamford, who could not miss from even closer.
Wigan managed to get to half-time without further alarm, and gave it a decent go at the beginning of the second period.
Kieffer Moore - making his first start for the club - appeared to be taken out at the far post from a Wigan corner, but the official waved play on.
Then Leeds upped the ante further and thet were initially denied what looked to be a stonewall penalty when Pablo Hernandez's cross clearly struck the outstretched arm of Antonee Robinson, with the referee awarding only a corner.
But from the resulting set-piece from Douglas, Bamford bundled the ball home for 2-0.
