All you need to know about Bulgaria, who are the latest Euro 2020 qualifier opponents for Gareth Southgate's Three Lions.
Here, the PA News Agency gives you the lowdown on Saturday's opponents at Wembley.
Who is Bulgaria's head coach?
Krasimir Balakov is considered, after Hristo Stoichkov, the greatest Bulgarian footballer of his generation. He was a key member of the team that finished fourth in the 1994 World Cup in the United States and won 92 caps for his country. He won cups as a player in Portugal and Germany with Sporting Lisbon and Stuttgart respectively but has had a chequered career as a manager at clubs in Germany, Switzerland, Croatia and Bulgaria.
Who is Bulgaria's star man?
Big things are expected of Kiril Despodov in Bulgaria. The 22-year-old, who plays as a winger or a forward, is the country's current footballer of the year after an impressive campaign at CSKA Sofia last season. His exploits earned him a move to Cagliari in January of this year, with the Serie A side reportedly fending off competition from PSV Eindhoven, Anderlecht and Dynamo Kiev for his signature. He is now on loan in Austria with Sturm Graz.
Bulgari's footballing pedigree
Bulgaria enjoyed its finest moment at the 1994 World Cup as the likes of Stoichkov, Balakov, Yordan Letchkov and Boncho Genchev reached the semi-finals in the USA, knocking out holders Germany along the way. The country had never previously been beyond the last-16 and eventually succumbed to a Roberto Baggio-inspired Italy side. Despite producing players of the quality of record-scorer Dimitar Berbatov and Stiliyan and Martin Petrov, Bulgaria has been a country in football freefall for around two decades, failing to qualify for a tournament since 2004.
Bulgari's recent form
Bulgaria played in Group C in the inaugural Nations League and are currently 60th in the FIFA world rankings, behind the likes of Mali, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Jamaica and Australia. Balakov's team will arrive at Wembley without a win in seven games and on the back of successive defeats to the Czech Republic and Kosovo in this qualifying group.
England's head-to-head record v Bulgaria
Bulgaria have played England on 10 previous occasions, losing six times with four draws. The most recent meeting came eight years ago in Sofia when a Gary Cahill goal and two more from Wayne Rooney moved the Three Lions a step closer to Euro 2012 qualification.
