Unai Emery: Set for Arsenal according to reports

Unai Emery appears to accidentally confirm Arsenal appointment

Unai Emery has appeared to announce himself as the new Arsenal manager via a graphic and quote on his official website.

The image, which included the message - "proud to be part of the Arsenal family" - was published ahead of the club's official announcement, which is expected later this week.

The page was subsequently removed later on Tuesday night.

It is widely expected that Arsenal will appoint the former Paris-Saint-Germain boss as head coach after he was offered the role to succeed Arsene Wenger.

The 46-year-old led the French Ligue 1 side to a domestic treble this season - but did not have his two-year contract extended and was replaced by Thomas Tuchel.

Former Arsenal captain Mikel Arteta was in the frame for the Emirates hot seat but was understood to have wanted assurances over the role he would play in the club's transfer policy.

Emery is expected to hand Aaron Ramsey and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang important roles in the team as he looks to restore the Gunners among the Premier League's top-four and European elite.
