Diego Costa next club odds: Wolves odds-on to sign former Chelsea striker

Wolves look primed to sign free agent Diego Costa, who last week left Atletico Madrid for personal reasons.

The Old Gold are in desperate need of reinforcements up front after losing Raul Jimenez to a fractured skull, ruling the Mexican out for the season.

Former Chelsea striker Costa, 32, is managed by super agent Jorge Mendes - the man behind Wolves' superb recruitment policy in recent years.

Costa had another six months left to run on his deal after returning to the club during the 2017-18 season.

Prior to his December 29 departure from Atletico, it had been reported that Arsenal were interested in signing him during the January window.

But given Wolves' own need, and the Mendes connection, a move to Molineux makes a lot more sense.

Costa scored 19 goals in 81 appearances in all competitions for Atletico after moving back to the club from Chelsea.
