Neal Ardley leaves AFC Wimbledon after six-year spell in charge

Sky Bet League One side AFC Wimbledon have announced that manager Neal Ardley has left the club by mutual consent.

Ardley, who was appointed by the Dons in October 2012, has left along with assistant manager Neil Cox.

First-team coach Simon Bassey has been placed in temporary charge of the struggling Sky Bet League One club, who are second bottom in the table.

Wimbledon chief executive Erik Samuelson told the club's website: "Neal has been a credit to the club in everything he has done.

"He leaves with my personal thanks and gratitude for what he has done in his time here at AFC Wimbledon."
