Sergio Aguero has reiterated his intention to leave Manchester City when his contract expires in 2020.
The Argentinian forward - 25/1 with Sky Bet to win the 2017/18 PFA Player of the Year award - has always spoken of his desire to return to Independiente in Buenos Aires, where he came through the academy ranks, after the expiration of his current deal at the Etihad.
There has been talk of City extending their all-time top scorer’s current deal, but he reaffirmed his plans in a recent interview while on international duty.
The 30-year-old confirmed to Fox Sports: “My contract with Manchester City will expire in 2020, then I will return to my home at Independiente.”
He spent time with Argentina in the current international break as they trained at City’s training facilities, and he vowed to do his all to help the South American nation win this summer’s World Cup.
