Anthony Crolla put himself in line for another tilt at a world lightweight title after a unanimous decision victory over Daud Yordan in the main undercard bout of the Oleksandr Usyk-Tony Bellew card.
The Manchester fighter was given a hero's welcome on his walk to the ring for a fight that was billed as a final eliminator for the WBA title at 135lbs the Briton once held.
His Indonesian opponent had won 38 of his previous 41 professional contests and proved a tricky foe, throwing shots from all angles in an energetic display across the 12 rounds.
But the more accurate shots were from Crolla, who was given the nod by a score of 116-112 on all three of the judges' scorecards.
Vasyl Lomachenko, rated one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in the world, is the current WBA lightweight champion.
